Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I don't think so, or, anyway, I don't remember that. Weren't were three women who were best friends there until for some reason two became best enemies of the other one and turned on her (but I had left by then). I think maybe Lily was the victim. One, (whitelotus?), was studying ballet, I remember that.

hohum .... what relic of a long gone website is under this stone!

Subject: Everything about Middle East. From politics to history, culture, etc. Turks, Armenians,Kurds, Greeks, Jews, Arabs, Persians and others

So many arguments and passions, all of it in the end meaningless and lost forever.

My name is not there - never posted there.

And there was also much drama here http://www.network54.com/Forum/84302/ - it is mostly dead now but go back 300 or 400 or 500 pages.

Forgotten drama http://www.network54.com/Forum/84302...o+hide+anymore - nobody cares anymore!

And there was some other place called Armenian Cafe that no longer exists.

              Re: Ara the Rat

I believe MakoorMeghoo was the g/f. I vaguely remember something about the girls' falling out but it's all a blur.

And I had forgotten that Ara Baliozian had his own corner at G'tiloz! I never posted on those dreadful Network54 things, bell, but I'd come across them before. ThornyRose also ran one called "Non-Turkish Crimes Against Humanity."

Anyway, Siamanto used to post on some of those discussion boards and always had bad things to say about most of its members. I remember when he accused Sip of being an administrator on ThornyRose's forum back in 2007 only for Sip to point out that it was a mirror of HaiForum. Oh man that Siamanto was such a trip! I remember this HUGE fiasco that ensued when I referred to Siamanto as a "he". I still don't know what that was about ... apparently you aren't supposed to assume that a "Siamanto" is necessarily a "he". S/He was also quite enraged for something I had said about computers. Don't remember what that was though but man was there a LOT of anger towards me for some reason. Ahhhh the good old days of the pre-facebook internets.
                this post = teh win.

Siamanto seemed to be always enraged about something or other. His/her day was not complete without a good enragement. Though nobody did a full-blown, always on, 365-day-a-year enragement quite like Hellektor

Say what you like (as in cesspits full of hate, vendettas, and petty disputes) about those old network54-type pre-"invision board-type" message boards, at least they were full of life. Here, about all we have nowadays is a never ending thread with pictures of weapons. But I think that what both lots have in common is their complete longterm pointlessness. When this place gets deleted, as it eventually will, what things of value will be lost? And would that realisation stop all the futile enragements? Probably not. For every banned Siamanto another quickly appears.

What is this facebook of what you speak? Links to anything armenia-related on it that is of more importance than a diary or scrapbook?

....though here is one I found last night: https://www.facebook.com/BirZamanlar...rVardiHalaVar/

                    Re: Ara the Rat

bell, I used to have that Facebook page "liked" so it would show up in my news feed but it got to be too depressing after a while. I don't know how could go wandering about those parts of Turkey without ending up dejected.

This page might be useful to you but it's mostly in Armenian: https://www.facebook.com/digilib. It's the American University of Armenia's Digital Library of Classical Armenian Literature, which has its own site at http://www.digilib.am. They post pictures and links to various articles of interest.
