Stalinism without Stalin.
Armenian-style democracy in America:
Sultanism without fez and yataghan.

You can’t get rid of bad habits
by pretending you don’t have them.

“How can an Armenian do this to another Armenian?”
According to one of our elder statesmen:
Some Armenians are not Armenians
but Turks who speak Armenian fluently.

THE ANSWER

Turks deny the reality of our genocide
to the same degree that we deny our status
as perennial losers, dupes and
addicts of the blame-game.
*
Turks fool themselves into thinking
they are la crème de la crème;
and we fool ourselves into viewing
our bosses, bishops and benefactors
as dedicated and humble servants
of God and the people.
*
To deceive ourselves is ease;
to deceive God or Reality impossible.
Silencing dissenting voices
may postpone the final catastrophe
but it cannot prevent the inevitable.
*
What is the answer?
We may have it only after we start asking
the right questions.

BROTHERS

There are dissident Turks today
who loathe their nationalist-Kemalist legacy
as much as Armenians loathe
their long history of subservience
and collaboration with the enemy.
Some day if these Armenians and Turks
sit at the same table,
they may discover their brotherhood.

The main function of nationalism
is to poison the minds of the next generation
by turning them into killing machines.

You want to know what makes us unique?
The fact that we are just about
the dumbest people on earth
who pretend to be the smartest.

You want the truth?
We are not smart.
We are not even dumb.
