    Gore Vidal on terrorism:

I should have known all along
there is more merit in being unpopular.”

    xxxx does not happen

xxxx is conceived, planned and executed

Fighting injustice is like being a solitary amateur
confronting a mob of seasoned pros –

As an Armenian I should have known that
if your enemies don’t get you, your friends will.

    NOTES / COMMENTS
    *******************************
We are few and we are weak.
    That doesn’t explain why
we are also divided and stupid.
    *
It is not easy writing for an audience
    99% of which are convinced
they don’t need a minor scribbler
    telling them what to think.
    *
    On the radio this morning:
“60% of native children were sexually assaulted

    AS I SEE IT
    ***********************
Democracy is great if you can afford
    one or more politicians –
    the more the merrier.
    *
    Capitalism and communism create
    more problems than they solve.
    *
Forgiving from a position of weakness
    is bullxxxx.
    *
Civilized man is a heartless beast.
    *
    Patriotism is not an ideology
    but a pathology.
    *
In politics feet speak louder than the tongue.
    *
God does not speak and those who quote him
    are dealers in abracadabra.
    *
    Love is a cruel trap
    designed by a heartless god.

    LOGIC
    ************************
    Genesis makes more sense
    than the Big Bang.
    *
All men of faith are brainwashed
    by men of faith.
    *
With some men no means yes.
    All women know this.
    *
The difference between them and us is that
    they are bloodthirsty barbarians
and we believe in law and order.
    Whose law and order?
    Ours,of course.
    *
A man or woman disappointed in love
does not question the god of love.

    NOTES / COMMENTS
    *****************************
    To the average Armenian
a writer is first and foremost a dealer in bullxxxx.
The same cannot be said of sermonizers
(who speak in the name of the Almighty) and
speechifiers (who speaks in the name
of the eternal snows of Mt. Ararat).
    *
    All Armenian controversies are rooted
    in the following two fallacies:
    (i) I am holier than thou, and
(ii) I am smarter than thou.
    *
The dumbest assertion dealing with Armenians:
    “Armenians are smart.”
    *
When a dishonest reader demands solutions
to a specific problem, he means a verbal formula
like abracadabra that will make the problem disappear.

    The 99% argue endlessly about
    the existence of God.
The 1% know God is money.
    *
    Our 1% have been successful
    in systematically moronizing the nation.
That’s why they smile a lot
when they meet and shake hands.

It is said of a tough motherf--- that

    NOTES / COMMENTS
    ************************************
    Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923):
    “Non-rational beliefs are more important
in spurring men to action than
    logical demonstrations.”
    *
    Francois Mauriac: “There is
    a certain species of kindness
that is always a sign of betrayal.”
    *
All men of wealth and women with assets
    tend to overestimate their worth.
    *
Long in speech, short in honesty.
    *
We should teach ourselves to say,
    "the Serpent c’est moi."
    *
No one is interested to know
    how smart you are
but how useful you can be to them.
    Too smart is no good;
    a little useful, much better!

    HONEST RIFFRAFF.
    *************************************
The 1% are guilty of deceiving the 99%
and the 99% are guiltier for refusing to use their brains.
    *
A great many incomprehensible things become
less incomprehensible if you remind yourself
    (i) our religion is a Jewish heresy, and
(ii) our leaders, like most leaders, are not honorable men.
    *
Of the two or more explanations,
choose the one that is most painful to your self-esteem.
    *
Think of your identity not as a blessing but as a curse.

    AS I SEE IT
    *********************************
As individuals we may be as smart
    or as dumb as the rest of mankind;
but as a tribe we fully qualify as one
    of the dumbest.
    *
All family trees go back to Cain,
    a contemporary of the Serpent.
    *
    It never fails:
as soon as I run out of things to say,
    God sends me a critic
who stimulates me to keep buggering on.

    OUR BETTERS?
    *******************************
As a boy, my greatest ambition
was to make a good impression on my betters.
It never even occurred to me to suspect
our betters may well be our worst.

    ON AN UNFORGETTABLE LINE
    *********************************************
Some lines once read are never forgotten.
I dare you to forget this line by G.B. Shaw:
    “I am a gentleman.
I steal from the poor and give to the rich.”
    *
    ON SOCRATES:
    THE UNFORGETABLE LINE
    HE NEVER SPOKE
    *****************************
    On being condemned to death,
Socrates had ever reason to say
(and he probably did because his thinking
    following a predictable assertion/contradiction line):
    “You are not killing me.
    You are committing suicide.”
    *
    ON SAROYAN
    *************************
    More than Saroyan’s works,
it is his celebrity that most Armenians admire.
