To those who identify themselves as Armenian,
may I ask: How long does it take
    to Americanize an Armenian?
And now, consider 600 years in the Ottoman Empire.

The Ottomans were role models for a long time because they seemed invincible, and humans are attracted to those who possess power.
Armenians who had no role models of their own would be attracted more to ottoman power than other national groups in the empire

      ON OUR HOLY TRINITY
      *************************************
A boss, bishop or benefactor will never – NEVER! –
      identify himself as a divider.
In his eyes the divider is always the opposition.
      A church-going friend once quoted
the following line from the sermon
of an archbishop in New York:
“Unity: we are all for it!
It’s the other side that’s against it.”
      *
To speak in the name of God
and to assert infallibility might as well be
      synonymous.
      *
      As for benefactors:
      they too assert infallibility
because they speak in the name
      of a mightier entity: Capital.

You cannot argue with a man who has somehow convinced himself that (a) he is smarter; (b) he knows better; (c) he is better. In short:you cannot argue with an armenian.#

          A reader writes:
          “Our community is dying.
          It’s a case of cold-blooded murder
and the killers are the very same individuals
          who parade as our saviors.”

            they include literature.

Our problems were thrust on us by others. We reject their solutions on our own.

We don't need political leaders. We need public servants. Did we ever have them?

When the distribution of wealth is uneven
                    there will be benefactors;
                    and where there are benefactors
                    brown-nosers will prosper.

                      In Aaron Sorkin’s NEWSROOM,
after making a long list of facts that prove
“America is not the greatest country on earth,”
                      McAvoy (the central character) adds:
                      “But we used to be.”
No mention of slavery, racism, McCarthyism,
Watergate. Nixon, Scalia, Archie Bunker, Madoff…
                      and I could go on!
