Okay. I’m American. Before I met my girlfriend (who’s Armenian), I knew nothing about her culture. Even though we’ve only been together for about 4 months, I’d really like to start learning her language. I’m just not sure where to begin. I asked what kind of Armenian she speaks, and she said it’s Hayastanci. Is that considered western or eastern Armenian (or something else)? Does anyone have any suggestions for an audio book or preferably computer software that could get me started? I figure, once I get the basics down, I can learn the rest from her.

The Armenian that Armenian's in Armenia (Hayastanci) speak is Eastern.

Dude, don't sweat it about posting here. You don't have to keep nothing to a minimum. Post all you want if you want to. Feel free. It's always good to have people here from other cultures as well.
