Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Armenicum

I hope most of you have heard of Armenicum by now, it was basically touted as a wonder drug when it came out. It is reported that hundreds of AIDS and HIV infected people went to Armenia to receive treatment and there were interviews with them online where they were basically saying how it brought them back from the brink. It was all over the Armenian and CIS media but I recently remembered it and was searching online, what im puzzled at is that there seems to be no major news about it in the past 4 years and it seems the hubbub has died down. I was curious if you guys have heard anything about it recently.

No but I REALLY thought this thread was about... um... something else...

    Edit: http://ad2004.com/Biblecodes/Hebrewm...rmenicum2.html

How come this isn't getting more publicity? Could it be because the pharmasotical companies make more money by constantly treating than giving a one time cure? No, the world is much more noble than thta... right?

What a shame too. If ANYTHING would raise the Armenian status in the world it would be that we cured AIDs.

well the thing is its not one time and neither is it a cure, what i read is that it boosts your immune system greatly rather than actually fighting the virus.

Interesting topic. I've had many bursts of sporadic Armenicum researches, but have never found anything conclusive in order to really know what the deal with it is. I remember a while back, I had come across a site that had archived all the news articles related to Armenicum, but they were all rather old, and I don't know what site it was.

Out of pure coincidence, a1plus had an article about Armenicum today (with its notoriously beautiful english).

        **************************

        “ARMENIKUM” RAISING IMMUNITY

”There is no medicine to completely treat AIDS”, Norayr Davidyan, Armenian Health Care Minister answered the question about “Armenikum” at a press conference in National Press Club. According to him, “Armenikum” is a remedy for prolonging life and it is still under registration.

Lars Olof Kallings, UN Secretary General’s Commissioner on AIDS/HIV in Eastern Europe says that “Armenikum” must not be mixed up with anti-retrovirus remedies. “Anti-retrovirus remedies influence on a virus while “Armenikum” raises immunity”, he said.

Now anti-retrovirus treatment is not applied in Armenia because of being expensive. According to Samvel Grigoryan, Director of Republican Centre of AIDS Prophylaxis, beginning from February 1, 2005, such a cure will be used for 20 HIV-carriers. Treatment remedies will be imported by the means of World Vision and International Development Agency.

As to “Armenikum”, Grigoryan said probability of having a healthy child makes 60-75% after attending a course of treatment. This was the response to the question if the child of Nikolai Kolesnikov will be born healthy. Let’s remind that “Armenikum” was advertised thanks to Kolesnikov.

America has the cure for AIDs. The reason could quite possible be is to set up many more AIDs charities and milk the homosexuals of their money. Many famous actors are Homosexuals, and therefore, give a lot to charity, primarily for AIDs. This could be a fantastic conspiracy which I believe, because we all know they want tomake money.

            The world? Noble? Naaaah.

And just a sort of a tangent...it involves the topic of a recent presentation I prepared...

I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but there are people out there (mostly of Northern European decent) who have natural resistance to HIV infection due to a genetic defect. This defect consists of a 32 base pair deletion on chromosome 3 which prevents the proper production of a certain coreceptor necessary for HIV to enter the CD4 T cell. So, it's like having the key to a door without a lock.

            Why I brought this up...

This genetic defect is one of many ways in which to battle HIV/AIDS, yet nothing has come up yet.

It's been a while, and conspiracy theory or not, I think that it is VERY likely that a cure or stronger form of treatment exists, but is not available to the population since it's not financially profitable.
