Did you bother to explain him that Armenia went from a village to a industrialized state with the aid of the Soviet Union? Or did you trick him into thinking Armenians did it themselves. What was the name of that dam again? I remember two months ago, a non armenian friend of mine was amazed at this architecture, this guy isn't easily amazed but this really freaked him out.
He asked where did armenia get the money to build that stuff since it isn't a rich country....I was proud

I went once in 1999 and once this year.

<sigh> The republic square was built in Communist days as well. Yerevan was a village before that.
Armenia is going in a bad direction, I want it to be Industrial rather than tourist
