  • armenian backgrounds/screensavers

Does anyone know of any site with Armenian backgrounds (monuments, nature, urban, whatever). I need pictures specifically made for desktop backgrounds.

    How about screensavers.

    Thanks.

I think it was on the road to Igdir which is in Turkey fairly near the mountain (the site of a Kurdish town that we observed that was completely destroyed by the Turks in the 1930s as part of crushing the Kurdish "rebellion" against Ataturk & secularisation)...after that we proceeded up towards Kars & Ani (where I took many dozens of pics even with it being forbidden and the entry search (the many years of sneaking in tape decks to concerts for bootlegging did me well...)

Yep, it makes sense, from the Turkish side

Is it just me, or do you guys think that the view of Ararat from Turkey is total crap compared to the view from Armenia. I don't know maybe it has to do with the fact the Ararat valley on our side is lower, so Ararat towers over us and seems to float in the heavens.

Absolutely agree with you. There was this one magazine that put together the most beautiful locations on earth, and Ararat was on the list, but under Armenia. They said that the view was breathtaking, etc.

By the way, here's the picture I took from the Karabakh Memorial:
