BTW, if this forum's avatar size could be bigger, and my avatar were about 30 pixels taller - enough to see its eyes - then you would see that it is a Van kedisi.

Watup guys, since I have internet (56K though) at the moment, I wanna give you guys an update as to what I'm doing:

Currently, I'm staying in Bangladesh (Chorort Guygh) with my Horkur and cousins - I'll be staying here most of the time of my stay - and we have internet here so I'll try to post as much as i can - but uploading pics might be annoying under 56k so dont expect too many of those. I'll upload tons once I come back though. Anyway, this part of Yerevan ALWAYS has water and electricity and all that nice stuff we're used to - but I've visited my morkurs' houses and the water their is either weak or by the hours. Electricity is also sometimes a problem but that issue seems to have gotten 50x better since the last time I was here. I'm not annoyed or discomforted by all this xxxx though, I'm actually kind of used to it. In Metsamor (Hoktemberyan), where I was born (and will go to visit in a few days) we had water and electricity issues the worst. Anyway, I've been to Erevan alot, and I've been to the Guygh's alot too. The contrast in Yerevan is huge - you see bentley's and hummers next to old soviet 06's. You also see million dollar mansions in the middle of poverty stricken areas. But Yerevan has gotten ALOT better, taxi's are everywhere and they show up at ur house within 1 minute of ur call. The taxi service here is actually really impressive. People here seem to have really deshgo faces, but once you talk to them they treat you like gold. The men dont wear shorts and the women dont leave the house without makeup and doing their hair. Most dress pretty nicely and with class but there are some lost souls - like everywhere. Anyway, I've seen alot of our youth and I have to say the youth here (in terms of going out and stuff, having a good night out) is more active than in NY. 90% of the pedestrians at night at the restaraunts are all young in their late teens. Its nice to see a change like that, it wasnt like that 4 years ago. But if the businesses in Yerevan are growing, that means the people have money to benefit from the businesses - especially things like restaraunts and clubs. Yerevan is, for me, THEE place to live with no doubt. I'm deffinitly coming back to live here after school. For anybody coming to Armenia this summer, and if your staying in Yerevan, you will undoubtebly have the time of your life. You wouldn't believe the new places they've built here, its top of the line xxxx.

As for the outskirts of the town, where I also went, and the rural areas. Nothing has changed - you sometimes see the contrast with new buildings or new cars and factories, but generally, its the same. Poverty stricken and mellow. Strangely enough, the people back at Guygh are more pleasant and generous than the people in the city. Us and our neighbors have remodeled our dachas and they look amazing, but the about 80% of the Guygh's are in ruins. I seriously dont know how the people here survive. I think their persistent farmers - they eat what they grow and buy clothes with the little money they make selling food in the urban areas.

I've seen most of my family and I dont know how I'm gonna handle leaving them. I'm deffinitly coming back for a month and a half next summer. Well right now I'm eating some Armenian made Lamanjo and some Tan. Die in envy you foolish odars .

Anyway, I'm gonna be staying here for 2 months and will probably visit everything and everywhere. In a few days, I'll be going to Xapan where my cousin (whos a commander in the army) is situated in with his base. And i'll be chillen with our soldiers, I prolly wont be able to take pictures, I asked him about it, but I think i can get some shots of the soldiers and me - just not the weapons and stuff. I'll be going to Xarabagh later on, if you guys have any questions or would like me to visit anywhere or anything special, or photograph anything for you - post it here and I'll try to see what I can do.
