I thought the Iranians were aware that the Azeris of the Republic of Azerbaijan were only selectively Muslim? They are Shia Muslims when confronted by Iranians, Sunnis for Arabs and Turks, and of course Islamicized "Caucasian Albanians" for Europe. After 70 years of Soviet-endorsed atheism and Russification, what did the Grand Ayatollah expect? This fatwa guff is foolish. -
