    Re: Youtube banned in Turkey

    As funny as this is...

How does the government ban a website??

Like if you get caught visiting the sight you get a fine (you eyes get poked out)?

      Re: Youtube banned in Turkey

I think that the government restricts the website somehow, but I don't know how exactly. The Turks said very bad things about the Armenian Genocide movies on YouTube.

Usually the following sign appears with a message saying that the site was filtered (blocked) following the order of the judiciary, and if it is blocked mistakenly let us know…

                    Re: Youtube banned in Turkey

Yeah no wonder Turkey banned youtube... They are really sensitive when Ataturk is the subject... I have seen some videos where Ataturk was depicted as homosexual and many turkish people were angry about it... This shows that turkey still dont respect freedom of speech... It is sad really.. Oh and am a turkish cypriot by the way... I found this forum randomly and I would like to learn more info about your fellas feelings about genocide and world politics coz I dont know anything about armanians expect for only one sided stories from turkish history books which are already erased from my memory. Would be nice if any of you would help me learn more ^^

YouTube is not banned anymore, Youtube took the video down and complied with turkey.
