Turkey is not in the Caucasus for one. while the 'turks' have assimilated caucasians that doesn't make them such as a whole. The turk race, the turanoids who came out of central asia is a hybrid of Iranians and Mongols.

For the last time, Armenians have not mixed with Turks

Turkish man + Armenian woman= Turkish woman with Turkish kids

Armenian man + Turkish woman= illiegal under Muslim law and extemely rare.

There may have been rape here and there but that doesn't mean we have mixed with Turks.

We have definately mixed with Greeks because we shared the same land, culture and religion.

Re: Armenian Race and Cultural Background

However during Ottoman Empire Circassian women were very famous to marry (they are still famous), Turks can not be considered as Caucasus. We (Turks) offically seek our identy in Middle Asia. But I think best "Turkish" definition is British one. I hope I'll post it later.

Armenian man + Turkish woman= illiegal under Muslim law and extemely rare.
It was not so rare If you change the word "Armenian" with H...(muslim Armenian) one. Armenians definately mixed with many nations. Armenia is on the cross road of ancient times.

This seems best for me, I am going with this. And I read some places that Armenia is 95% pure Aryan they have kicked out all of the others, I don't know if this is true or not, but I thought I'd bring it up.

Re: Armenian Race and Cultural Background

Today in Turkey there is not a pure Turkish race. The Torkomans and Yoruks who are originally Turks and who do not intermarry are like %10 in population. The rest are assimilated and brainwashed Anatolian people. Even tough they have nothing to do with central Asia, they have come to believe that they had come from central Asia because of the bad propoganda of ataturk.

The other Turkish tribes until they came to Anatolia, they were mixed with the local peoples from where they were passing by. Because the Turks had a inclination to marry with women of other races. The Seldjuks did this and the ottomans did this. The mothers of Ottoman sultans were Greek, Serbian, Russian, Hungarian, Cherkessian, Armenian, etc. Because Islam was encouraging this.

Today in Turkey one of the most dominant ethnic group is Laz people. Laz people are originated from Georgia and they are Caucassian mixed with Iranian race. The other dominant people are the Kurds. They are like 15 million. There are lots of people from the Iranian race who adopted their religion also; the Alevi and Kizilbash people.

In eastern Anatolia almost in every Kurdish family there is an Armenian grandmother! Why is that? Because in the time of the genocide the Kurds kidnapped the beautiful young Armenian girls and children and added them to their families, converted them and married them. I know lots of people personally who have Armenian Grandmothers!

There are millions of emigrants from Caucasia and Balkans. They are not Turks but only muslims; lots of Cherkess, Chechens, Abazas, Georgians, Bosnians, Albanians, Macedonians, Daghestanis.

The people of Middle Anatolia are pure Anatolian. The people of Sewaz for example, you can distinguish them from a hundred miles away. They have particular racial features. Maybe they are the descendants of Hittites or maybe Armenians but surely they are not Turks.

By the way, there are lots of Armenian and Greek converts. For example the people of Hamshen, Hopa, Artvin are all Armenian converts. The native people of Trabezond are muslim Greeks, they were talking in Greek until 1930s.
Also there are lots of Armenian converts living in eastern Anatolia; in Malatya, Mush, Bitlis, Erzurum, Kars, Dersim, Harpoot, Mardin, Adiyaman, Diyarbekir. These people are hiding their identity.

When the Turks first arrived to Anatolia they named it Rumeli meaning "the land of Rum(Rome). Because at that time Anatolia was a part of Eastern Roman Empire and the people were Roman citizens. These people had been first colonized by the Greeks and they were "Helenized" then they were Romanized but they were Anatolian people. What happened to these people, were they vanished from the face of the world? What happened to the galatians of Anatolia? These people were then "muslimized" by the influence of Ottoman and also Persian states. The ones who resisted to this, kept and stuck to their Armenian and Greek identities.

As you can see that Anatolia has never been fully Turkilized, the Turks were only the invaders and they reigned over the poor Anatolian Peoples! The peoples of Anatolia converted to Islam but they had not been converted to Turkishness, because Ottoman Empire was a multi-cultural state.

But this was until 1930s!!! By the beginning of 1930s, a heavy Assimilation Project was carried out by ataturk and Anatolia was clean Formatted! Everybody was considered as Turk. Turkish language was enforced by law. And these people forgot their true identities.

I am NOT writing these for the purpose of racism. I hate racism. If we dig out our past to the end we surely will reach to a conclusion that we are all brothers and sisters. I love all the people. We have to question why some cultures cause the people differ and conflict so severely!

I am not a race discriminator. We all have the same red blood and 23 pair of genes and were all created by the same God. But I am a CULTURAL discriminator. I am against some cultures assimilate, dominate, destroy and erase other cultures. Because these cultures are the treasures of the world; legacy of thousands of years.

So the cultures of Anatolia must be revived. Firstly; the erased Armenian Culture!
