Yeah, and unless you provide sources supporting your claims, I'll be calling BS on that.

In another note, Armenians in the past were all Blonde/Redhaired individuals, with blue or green eyes. None of this black hair or brunette nonsense. We were mainly a group of people whose signature looks defined originality. You and I and countless other natural blondes/redheads are remnants of this rare breed of people showing that we truly do have pure Armenian blood in our veins. (Not saying people with black hair or brown hair aren't armenian, but our people in the past mostly had blonde/redhead features.)

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm also FULL Armenian, blonde, green eyes...I look more European than anythingOriginally posted by shakeyshake View Postin my personal experience, people usually think i'm white..(extremely pale skin, blonde hair, and i guess my facial features aren't really strongly defined as most), and immediately, the bashing begins. in class or out, my wonderful high school consists of the rabiz talking about me, or the girls behind me cracking jokes about me in armenian. they always get suprised when i reply back in armenian, which is very funny. as an armenian, i'm ashamed to be associated with these kinds of people..the rabiz, who show up to school with only binders. the girls, who spend their money on 400 dollar bags, when their parents can barely afford to put food on their tables.
sure, i don't wear hollister, nor do i drive an S class.
i wear clothes from high end melrose shops, to tank tops you could pick up at target, and i drive a jeep.
i sometimes feel like embracing my heritage is about as fun as dying, since i haven't seen really good examples of what an armenian should be.
so what's the deal with this kind of behavior?
And I feel exactly the way you feel about it.
It's a shame that Armenians are shallow and narrow minded, and not accepting of each other as other nations accept their people.
And as for the 'particular' group of Armenians youre referring to. The Armo's, fresh out of Armenia, I blame no one really. Every year we send millions to an ungrateful country called Armenia, who don't use the money for what they claim they need it for. The people there instead sit on their lazy bums and use money we work so hard for to live their lives. They come here and see everything for the first time and go all out. They're not used to this lifestyle, and they can't believe their eyes. They are what I like to called "Atchkeh Dzag." They haven't seen it at all in their lives.
Armo's give Armenian's a bad name. I'm sorry but I've never met one nice person from Armenia. And that's MY opinion, so if you don't agree, you can just suck it.

I know an Armenian who has blond hair & blue eyes, hey it can happen? I dont understand it all, when people look down at there own race. You have to look like a Armenian...what does that even mean? Like I said earlier on this subject maybe some are jealous.

There are blond, blue eyed Armenians. As we know Urartu consisted of all kinds of tribes. There were tribes that were light skin, hear, eyes. After ages of mixing it is impossible to track who belonged to what tribe, but we can still see the effects. I've hear many stories when a black person mixes with a white person and their kid looks white. Then that kid mixes with a white. They have a child and then a child of that child borns black?! Same with us.Originally posted by freakyfreaky View PostHow is a blond armenian possible??? I beg to differ with you that there are no blond armenians.
shakeyshake what do your parents look like?

Re: I wonder why there's so much hate directed towards Armenians..who don't look arme
I think a lot of new wave everyones are ignorant people, as they always have been. Armenians are no exception.
Personally, I don't care to be associated with many Armenians around me (but I end up being so anyway because of common culture), and I don't have any fair features. I'd rather just do my own thing, I have standards for who I'd like to be around, and it applies to Armenians and non-Armenians, it applies to everyone. To me, an Armenian who has nothing new and useful to teach me or who is incapable of learning, expanding his/her horizons, is a waste of time. It's the same for anyone else. Having the same flag as someone will not blur my standards, in fact, I think having the same flag can sometimes justify slacking off in terms of actually growing as individuals, and I wish more Armenians snapped out of this. If you want to contribute something beneficial to your community, you have to grow a bit on your own.
Rejected by your own people you say? Perhaps it's you who should be the one that rejects all who are ignorant and unwilling to learn and grow. You don't have to be one of those lowlives. Again, a common flag is not a pretext for playing a game that's aim is only being "accepted" by a small clique of idiots.Last edited by jgk3; 04-29-2008, 07:36 AM.

I never said anyone was jealous of me. I dont think being light and having blue eyes makes you good looking. I think alot of the new wave of Armenians are just ignorant people. Again its ashame after how hard the genocide survivors worked to build a good name for Armenians in the US, the ones in Glendale have no respect for them and have gave Armenians a bad name. Im glad my grandparents are dead not to see the people in Glendale, my Mom was horrified by them.
Its one thing to be Armenian in america which is hard and then to be rejected by your own people is the worst.Last edited by NightOwl; 04-28-2008, 10:41 AM.

I agree with the young Mos. This is an utterly stupid topic of discussion - like totally brain dead. A typical Armenian can come in all shapes, all sizes and all colors found within a Caucasian parameter. Incidentally, I have 'never' heard of, or seen, Armenians acting biased against "light skinned" Armeninans. It's total BS. And I don't know what kind of f***ed people this "Nightowl" keeps attracting, be it in Glendale or in Queens. I suggest you people grow up and find some class.

Re: I wonder why there's so much hate directed towards Armenians..who don't look arme
the reason have come to this forum less and less is because every time I come here there are these threads about , oh do I look Armenian? Is it ok I have light hair? "I don't fit in with Armenians because my skin is too light" Let's just cut the bs, isn't there a more useful thing to talk about or discuss than judging people's complexion.
