    Re: Holiday pictures from Armenia

    Lernakan,

I did a google search for "Goris" and this thread popped up. I may be late in saying this but, great pictures!...and thanks for taking the time to upload all of them. I know that takes a lot of time.

          Re: Holiday pictures from Armenia

Here are some pictures from my trip to Armenia this year. Sadly I didn't get to travel through Armenia as much as last year. This has been my fifth time I've been to Armenia in a row and I will go there next year as well and probably keep up the "tradition" until I have moved there permanently. I have met some people through the years who have grown to be like family to me. All of you who still haven't been to Armenia I strongly advice you to do so as soon as you can. It will be a life changing experience.

I "climbed" Mount Aragats this year for my first time and it was a great experience. It was physically much harder than I had expected (partly because of the amount of food and drinks we carried with us ) but it was worth it.
We took a cab 'til the lake with the "famous" restaurant where they sell Khash and from there we had to walk to the top.

                  Re: Holiday pictures from Armenia

When we got back from Aragats we stayed at a friends house in Byurakan. We had a real Armenian "kef" that night with barbeque and self made vodka. We had a great time dancing and drinking 'til late at night. The next morning a friend of mine woke me up at 5 a.m. to go to Amberd. We had a three hour walk from Byurakan to Amberd through little mountain passes. You can reach Amberd easily by car but if you go through the mountains its a whole different experience.
