BTW arakeretsig, the reason why Vank is more developed than other villages is because it is the native village of Levon Hayrapetyan, a billionaire in Russia. He has generously invested and reconstructed the village. The road up to Gandzasar used to take hours. Now it took us less than 30 minutes. All thanks to Hayrapetyan's donations I hear.

it's true. The village had more europian standard of quality than most villages in armenia even. There was a huge piano in the local school, funny stuff!
Only thing i regret is not seeing the tiger-like recreation facility in the vacinity of Vank. no time left.

heh. i actually didn't know that. i saw it though, but was too busy trying to find water under the heat
Vank is really beautiful place, i went down from gandzasar by foot, really amazing view of the valley.

Yeah that wall is like a public humiliation for Azeris )) It was foggy for us so we didn't have heat problems

That's my nickname for it I'm sure you know but for those who don't, that "wall" is made out of Azeri license plates that were left over from the war. They made good use of them

I went to all these places last summer, it's so surreal everything! btw, why they call it "wall of shame"?
