This isn't a bill, its a non-binding resolution. Bush cannot even veto it. There is a separate 'resolution' before the Senate. S.R. 106. The resolutions are identical.

You guys are getting ahead of yourselves...

the house passed a similar bill some years ago...

It never made it to the senate floor for a vote.

All this does is raise recognition.

Before a bill becomes law...it has to go through senate, and it would have passed last time, except it was pigeonwholed by the senate leader cant remember who it was at the time... because President mother effin clinton asked for it not to be voted on..even though majority of senate was for it...

and if senate passes it bush can still veto it.

Anywho, what does this bill have to go through now before it is finally law? Does anyone know what the next steps this resolution needs to go through before it becomes law or whatever?

You mean banned for telling the truth. Good to see an old friend.

Tom Lantos should be embraced by the Armenian community, he demonstrated true leadership regardless of what anyone wants to say about his past flip-flopping and regardless of whether he believes recognition is proper, he obviously believed it was a matter that should be discussed in his committee and brought to the floor. He was courageous.

As leaders in the J-ewish community can exert much emotional influence on individuals. And some call on him often. Maybe, he was trying to free himself of the burden. Either way, he is a hero.

Also, some of the dissenters, especially Rep. Meeks, made valid points that were not based on the old party line for non-recognition/continued denial that were more an opportunity to make a political statement about the reek emanating from the Hill and the need to clean it up before we start wagging our biased finger at others.

Oddly, these statements came after almost every voting politician in DC ran to the floor to condemn the Revolutionary Guard as terrorists as we allow private contractors to do our dirty work in other countries with immunity from those 'sovereign' nations.

Well the Foreign Affairs committee did the right thing, with the help of many xxxs I must add. In relation to that, it seems to me that many individual xxxs have done the right thing and have supported the resolution. In fact, the list of those who voted for the resolution includes several xxxs. To say otherwise is to be dishonest. Of course, at the same time the vile Israeli/Zionist lobbies do indeed try to spread lies and paranoia at Turkey's bidding.

It was a pretty funny spectacle either way. So much bullxxxx and so much posturing and prancing with regards to Turkey and all the bullxxxx about it being a democracy and ally.

All Californians votes yes. Not suprising. All NYers voted yes, not surprising. The one Greek voted Yes. We can count on our Greek brothers, as they can on us. But overall, it was all pure politics. Those that couldn't afford to piss of the Armenians voted yes, those that didn't give a xxxx and/or lived in hicksville Arkansas or Missouri voted no. Except for few genuine voices, it seemed all very political.

Either way, a victory for our mighty lobby.

It is good news. Maybe someone ought to pay a courtesy "call" on all those scabious dogs that voted against the resolution. The passage is also a rebuke to the phantom Bush who advised against it, and to that lonely spinster who also clamoured for NO votes.

That's understandable. I wanted to say who I was and why I left/was banned way back when. That way I can get past the "who are you?" question and move on. I actually came back after all this time to congratulate everyone on HR106.

I prefer j*w. Or even j*w bastard. Same thing.
