It is my honor to share this... NO Armenian inspires me more than Monte. He gave up "everything" in the US to dedicate his life to his nation. He died for Artsakh, He died for Armenia. His blood runs through the soil of our fatherland, and it is not only my honor but my duty to visit his resting place at Erablur Cemetary every time I visit Armenia. We only have the land to call home because of our fedayi like Monte. I envy that he died for a patriotic cause, for his country, and for that - he lives forever. I hope one day I will have the honor to make such a sacrifice for my fatherland.

        Thank you for sharing Hovig
The Fedai blood that runs in every one of us will be awaken in some of us using Monte as an example.

The duduk and zourna are nearly impossible to play. (The duduk requires the lungs of a rugged Armenian for sure!) The shvi is much easier, but unfortunately, mine broke.

Armenian Tycoon Raises Beijing Olympic Rewards

                AFP

Armenia is to offer a staggering $700,000 to gold medal winners at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

"We hope that this special bonus from the National Olympic Committee will enhance their performance there," Armenia Olympic supremo Gagik Tsarukian said Friday.

Armenia won a gold medal in their first Olympics in Atlanta in 1996 but four years earlier three Armenians won gold as members of the Commonwealth of Independent States team representing former Soviet republics.

But just one bronze came in Sydney in 2000 and Armenia failed to win a medal at last year's Athens Games.
