- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

LIFE IN THE PROS: YURA MOVSISYAN
By Mike Woitalla
Executive Editor, Soccer America Magazine
Soccer America
March 7 2006
Ready for Prime Time
We talked to five of MLS's first-round picks to discover how they
found the path to the pros.
[parts omitted]
Yura Movsisyan (Kansas City)
FROM THE FIRST DAY
An Armenian boy living in Azerbaijan, Yura Movsisyan played soccer
and revered Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and the Yugoslav Pedrag Mijatovic.
"From the first day I touched the ball, that was the day I wanted to
play professional," he says. "That's all I thought of. I didn't want
to think about anything else."
When he was 12, his family fled Azerbaijan for the USA.
"I knew about America being a dream world but I really didn't know
if America had soccer," he says. "I was hoping, and I'm very happy
that they do."
Once in Pasadena, Calif., his father found a team for Yura. For the
first time, he donned cleats, shinguards and a uniform. "It was a
great feeling," he says.
Movsisyan played a semester of ball at Pasadena City College, then
dazzled at the MLS Combine, the pre-draft showcase.
The 18-year-old was picked fourth in the draft. Never before has a
player with such a modest resume been picked so high.
"I definitely learned that playing organized soccer and playing not
organized - there's a big difference," he says. "Playing not organized
you actually, I don't know, just learn the game better."General Antranik (1865-1927): “I am not a nationalist. I recognize only one nation, the nation of the oppressed.”

DARCHINYAN
article by Paul Upman
SaddoBoxing.com
March 6 2006
By Paul Upham in Sydney: IBF/IBO flyweight world boxing champion Vic
"Raging Bull" Darchinyan arrived home on Monday morning from the USA,
pleased with his latest win, but even more determined to improve. The
30 year-old knocked out Diosdado Gabi of the Philippines in eight
rounds on Friday night at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez,
California in the USA.
"It was a good win and I'm happy," said Darchinyan 25-0 (20). "He
was a tough fighter and I did my job. I promised I would knock him
out and I did. I made a few mistakes and I will do some more training
and work on them. Of course I am happy. It was a good knockout. Gabi
had never been stopped before."
After 26 year-old Gabi 26-3-1 (18) had boxed nicely in the early
rounds, Darchinyan used the lethal power of his left hand to knockout
the durable and hard-working Filipino.
"Like always, for the first two rounds, I was not going very hard,"
explained Darchinyan. "I want to see what my opponent can do. He is a
good fighter. He was preparing for this fight for three months. One of
the best coaches in America, Freddie Roach was training him. He felt
he was ready to beat me. I did some good training and I was ready. I
thought I would knock him out early in the 1st round, but he gave me
a tough fight."
The power packed left hand that the Armenia born Australian citizen
used to end the fight actually broke Gabi's jaw as he was stopped
for the first time in his career.
"It was a good punch," said Darchinyan. "I got him right on the chin
and I broke his jaw. The next day when I saw him, his face was very
badly swollen. It was a good knockout, but I have had some better
ones."
American television network SHOWTIME televised the fight across the
USA as the main event of their "SHOBOX: The New Generation" series
to an audience in the multi-millions and the impressive knockout win
will help build Darchinyan's profile to the American boxing fans.
"It was my first time on Showtime and America was watching," he said.
"I hope the fans saw my fight and they will like me. Hopefully I will
fight there again in three months time."
"I was rapt with the win," said Darchinyan's trainer Jeff Fenech. "I
was never worried. I was only concerned that our preparation just
wasn't long enough and he would get tired. I believe that was the
best he showed so far. That wasn't our best preparation. But unlike
some of his other fights, he never seemed to have any real lull. That
was a surprise to me and made me feel good. I was very proud of him.
He showed a lot of balls. He took a lot and stayed with Gabi the
whole fight."
"We have showed the Americans what we can do," said Darchinyan's
manager Robert Joske. "The Armenian population in California went
ballistic. They really came out and supported him very well."
While Darchinyan's power is impressive, Fenech revealed that former
undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis was concerned that
Darchinyan needs to improve his boxing skills.
"The kid's only problem is that he is too confident all the time,"
he said. "He thinks he can knock anyone out in one round. This fight
was a great experience. Lennox called me after the fight and said a
good, good boxer can beat Vic. Lennox told me it's my fault. I have
to get Vic in the gym and when he doesn't do what I tell him to,
get out of there. When I try to get him to box and try to get him to
move and not worry about power punches, if he doesn't listen, walk
out of the gym. It was a real good lesson for me talking to Lennox
after the fight. I also spoke to Mike (Tyson) after the fight and he
watched and enjoyed the knockout win."
Showtime analyst Steve Farhood, the former Ring Magazine editor who
called the Darchinyan-Gabi fight from ringside, can see that Fenech
is having trouble getting Darchinyan to vary his style because of
his power.
"Darchinyan will never be out of a fight because of that numbing
one-punch power," he said. "But his inconsistent boxing skills are a
concern. I can see that trainer Jeff Fenech gets frustrated because
Darchinyan resists some of what he's taught. xxxxiness and utter
self-confidence allow him to rely far too much on his natural power."
That knockout power and the destruction of Gabi will further serve
notice to the flyweight division that Darchinyan is a genuine force.
Mexican Jorge Arce 43-3-1 (33), who is the current WBC Interim
flyweight champion and promoted by Bob Arum's Top Rank, remains the
main target in Darchinyan's sights.
"I challenged him at his last fight and he promised he would come
to my fight, but he never came," said Darchinyan. "I want to fight
him and now I wait. I would like to fight him in June. Arce would
have seen this fight. If he is not running and thinks he is good,
come and fight me and we will see who is the best. I know I will beat
him. I will stop him."
Farhood gives Darchinyan, who is promoted by Gary Shaw, a big chance
of beating 26 year-old Arce.
"If Darchinyan fought Arce, the punches would fly, and so would the
blood," he said. "Fenech has twice faced Arce with Hussein Hussein,
so that would be a big advantage. Remember when Arce was beating
Michael Carbajal, then suddenly got stopped late in the fight?
Darchinyan-Arce might be a not so-instant replay."
For Darchinyan, the chance to fight in the USA on big cards is one
of the most enjoyable parts of the sport.
"It's not just about the money," he explained. "America is the best
place for professional boxing. There is more publicity for the
boxers. In America, once they recognise that you are the best in
your weight class, they will do everything for you. More media and
television exposure for the boxers."
In the meantime back in Australia, it seems that Jeff Fenech will
have his work cut out for him getting Darchinyan to resist the urge
to try to knockout his opponents with one punch.
"I want to tell my challengers," declared the 'Raging Bull', "that
I am not just coming for them for one or two rounds. I am strong all
twelve rounds. I can knock out my opponents in any round!"
Paul Upham.
Snakey or Greig do you know? or anyone else for that matter know the
full list of who Fenech is training at the moment?
Jeff has a great pair of sparring partners in his stable at
Featherweight Vic and Hussein, both world class. Shame for him he
lost Green at SMW, especially with the Mundine fight coming up.
Didn't Green split after Beyer cleaned his clock because Jeff was
more interested in hanging out with Tyson.. oh thats right he was
training him...
I get the feeling Jeff made a Mundine v Green fight so difficult
because deep down he new a slick boxer like Choc would beat Green,
as Beyer showed us. (it still don't feel right typing "slick boxer
like Choc!!" who'd of ever imagined he would get taken seriously in
the boxing world!!General Antranik (1865-1927): “I am not a nationalist. I recognize only one nation, the nation of the oppressed.”

ARTHUR ABRAHAM BEATS TAYLOR
Armenpress
06 Mar 2006
BELRIN, MARCH 6, ARMENPRESS: Aussie boxer Shannan Taylor has lost
his IBF middleweight title fight against Armenia's Arthur Abraham in
Berlin, after the fight was stopped in the seventh round.
Taylor was disappointed with the result, which was his fifth
defeat in a 49-fight career, while for Abraham, the win keeps him
undefeated. Abraham took the status of being favorite into the event,
and having comprehensively beaten Taylor proved why that was the case.General Antranik (1865-1927): “I am not a nationalist. I recognize only one nation, the nation of the oppressed.”
