Armenian WGM Lilit Mkrtchian won the bronze medal at the European Individual Chess Championship in Kusadasi, Turkey. With other nine players Lilit had 7.5 and she needed to play additional rapid and blitz games for the third place. In the last game Lilit faced Inna Gaponenko and scored a 1.5-0.5 victory winning the bronze medal. The third place in European Championship gives Lilit Mkrtchian the right to participate in the next Women’s World Championship.

Gold medal went to Eketerina Alatalyk (Turkey) and Tea Bosbum-Lachva (Holland) won the silver.
