Sardarapat was an Armenian Defensive War as well as a Turkish Offensive War, and the same thing goes for the NK it was Armenian Expertise at defense vs Turkish Expertise at Offense.

But in the end we won, so it goes to prove that the Turks have no expertise at offence even when they outnumber the enemy and it also proves that Armenians do indeed have an expertise in defence, particulatly since we were outnumbered. Therefore we are better fighters and warriors than the turks who only win when there are countless blunders made by the other side, or if they're fighting unarmed civillians.

Anyway, it reminds me of a stament made by Vafa Guluzade that always makes me laugh.

"But tell me, how can 100,000 Armenians isolated in the Caucasus mountains with no access to industry or weapons-with nothing in their hands-how can they defeat 7 million Azerbaijanis militarily?"

in Malazgirt battle(1071) 1/3 of the Seljuki Turkish army actually was Armenian.

My point about the Turks defeating Greeks and Armenians at Manzikert was not about the numbers of soldiers Romanus Diogenes had with him, I should have made it clearer before, my point was the quality of the soldiers on the Byzantine side.

Romanus had some of the best the empire had to offer with him, and his army was one that Caeser would have been able to command with only a few adjustments in thinking. Byzantine Infantry where a fearsome force, and one that no commander, especially a commander of lightly armed Turkish Cavalry and Infantry wanted to fight out in the open. Although Alp Arslan had the numerical advantage many Turkish Lords before him had attacked smaller numbers of well trained Byzantine Infantry, and elite Kataphractii and recieved humiliating defeats, I agree with you though that had it not been for Andronicus the battle may well have had a different outcome, but despite that it was still a great accomplishment.

I think I read somewhere in Turkish history book that Armenian army was fightinhg against the Byzantians who had overwelming force and Alparslan decided he would help the sibe weaker in numbers,Dont know if this is true.

Yea I'm so sure!

Following the disasterous Byzantine defeat at Manzikert in 1071 AD, the Seljuks overran the Armenian Kingdom of Ani, killing King Kakig II, causing contingents of Armenian nobility lead by Prince Rouben to seek refuge in Cilicia.

I guess Armenians were all too happy to help the turks do that.

Some Armenian Mercenaries may have fought for the Turks, but most Armenians in what I read fought on the Byzantine side.

Gavur and Sadarapat the two of you should remember that the had Alp Arslan used Armenian Tactics he would have lost the battle very quickly, what truly enaled Alp Arslan to defeat Romanus Diogenes was a combination of Alp Arslan's brains, and the disloyalty of the Emperors senior officers.
