That is true to an extent. I remember it was Abovian who wrote something to the effect that " Armenians were mistaken in building too many churches and not enough fortresses" If someone could find that quote, I would appreciate that. Then again, our church is who we are.

Just because he is not inline witth Diaspora politics doesnt make him a traitor.

This is also true for Partriach Barthalomeos, he also being called as traitor by mainland Greeks and Greeks of US.

The problem with these guys is that they are in a no-win situation. What is left of their communities are easy prey if they become too outspoken or push too hard. Not being outspoken angers the diaspora and also appeases the state so it's like a never ending cycle

MAsrob is a mature person, he is an intellectual and a knowledgeable scholar at the same time. He does not personally want to get into influence of diaspora leaders.

The event was not a propoganada event, the name of the conference was
"The art of living togather, peaceful co-existence of Armenians and Turks", it was totally politics free conference. That was Masrob's comments, there were other conferences as well held in Istanbul university or GAzi university, but he just participated in this event.

I have posted that news because of his comments on antagonism on both sides, which I believe has a value.

May be thats why the Tashnaks assasinated the Priests who wouldnt support them

They did infact murder some Armenians priests amongst other Armenians. In the Armenian community the Dashnaks are still controversial.

This will make many diasporan Armenians unhappy and feel uneasy. Turkey and Armenia proper will jsut have to find a way to co-exist and this sort of thing, political, propaganda or not has to happen to normalise realtions. Many Diaspora Armenians IMHO do not feel the daily dangers, urges or need to live side by side with a country like Turkey so I think they have and will have great difficulty understanding relationship "sparks" of this sort.

Nothing could be further from the truth. You are projecting your own thoughts/feelings upon us and really have no idea how we think and feel and what we know etc
