Armenian Genocide is a part (shame) of Turkish history but it is not the whole. Please, the last thing that i wish is to "justify" the genocide. But, there are lots of things that we try to solve in the Turkish 20th century history like every nation. And i think, Sultan II. Abdulhamid is not a figure that took part in the genocide. I will present some documents and my "subjective" interpretations, but not now, because of some problems that i have personally. I strongly want to emphasize one point:
With my whole heart and mind, i believe that Turk's enemy was and is not Armenian and i want to hear that Armenian's enemy was and is not Turkish people. This hope does not mean to cover, wrap, veil, conceal, shut or hush up the huge massacres. As Hrant Dink wrote, today and yesterday and unfortunately possibly tomorrow, Armenian's, Turk's, Kurd's, Arab's biggest enemy was "global colonialism". In the beginnig of the 20th century, global colonialism (imperialism) had decided to destroy Ottoman Empire because of two main reason: Middle-East oil resources and Caliphate. And they succeeded!
This is a long historical story and i want to emphasize main points. A generation (Young Turks) had grown up who are astonished, perplexed, filled with admiration follower/disciple of West. Enver-Talat-Djemal was disciple of Germany, Kemal was disciple of France and England. They are nationalist/racist and secular (this phrase is so soft, in fact, they are enemy of religion; i can prove this very very easily). They do not want monarchy and try to establish Western-type national(pure!) state. A caution is necessary: I am not pro-monarchist, but try to describe the atmosphere briefly. At last, with a "coup d'état" as i mentioned, they dethroned II. Abdulhamid and Ottoman Empire finished de facto.
Remaning part of the story is known. I share the "1.5 million"s desire that its too bad that i have little Armenian neighbors to befriend. Necip Fazıl was the first historian (in fact he was not only historian, mystical-philosopher-poet and establisher of the Great East (in Turkish: Büyük Doğu) world view) mentioned about cruelty of Ittihadist-Kemalists.
