Normally I would find myself in full agreement with what you have expressed here. However I have come to the realization that the extreme corruption at the core of the Turkish government has made all our "moderate" hope just so much wishful thinking. The way I now see it is that we have only a very short time to act. Once the US President George Bush is out of office we will have little hope to expect that the kind of arguments I propose will be accepted by the American Government and that we can get it to act on our behelf. Yes it is apparent that the US government - along with a coalition of concerned Christian European nations - must take matters into its own hands. Only through invasion and occupation of Anatolia can justice be served. In that way the jihadists will move in and create a terroristic environment where all Turks will have to look back and ask themselves how they allowed it to happen. And then they will start questioning their history and the facade of the Republic of Turkey and its founding. Meanwhile I suggest that Turkey remain in occupation while they kill off each other (and the Kurds and Armenians quietly annex what is ours). This will be their (forced) pennance - as they can't seem to take it upon themselves to reflect and make things right. Thats my postiton and I'm sticking to it. Hey - you can dream and think wishful thoughts...so can I!
