  • Armenian Migration term paper

Hello everyone, I have already learned alot, and am hopeful you can help me learn more.

I am in my senior year of college at the university of New Hampshire and am taking a class on Human Geography. For a term paper we were to choose a topic based on the migration of a people. I immediately thought to write about the emigration of Armenians at the beginning of the 20th century.

My grandmother, who has recently passed away, was part of this emigration and the stories she used to tell me were very compelling. To my understanding, the Armenian people fled to any country they could get into, and a large percent of the population went to the United States (my grandmother included)

It would be great if someone could point me in the direction of some online articles or journals, or could share some of their own insight on the MOVEMENT OF THE ARMENIAN PEOPLE POST 1900 - I'm looking for maps of migration, or some data to the amounts of people exiting Armenia and their destination. Basic trends in movement, motives for their movement, destination, etc. I have a story I plan to incorporate into my paper, but I'm lacking numerical data to back up my topic.

I am by no means asking anyone to write this paper for me, I am simply asking for some professional assistance, on a topic and people that mean a lot to me, that I am trying to learn more about.

I thank you all in advance,

    Jason Narinian

    Hi Jason

To give you a basic idea of the Armenian diaspora, look at this article. It will give you a broad overview. Links on the bottom will provide you with organiztions that study this in depth. You may want to ask them for material.
    Good luck with the paper.
