Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • I Really Want To Know These Questions...

I have four questions about this Genocide(!) I hope you respond me...

    First question:

Turkish Government is telling that they could open their archives and records about The Armenian Genocide(!) but Armenian Government did not accept it. I want to know why did Armenian Government reject it(!) we could only see the truth in archives and records because they are the only proof that could show real. Does it mean that ' Armenian People do not care about truth' (!)

Second question is about photos of dead people. I am seeing a lot of pictures of dead people but how could I know it those pictures belong to dead Armenian people(!) . They might be dead Turkish people who Armenian People had killed(!) How could it be proven? Might it be Turkish Genocide instead of Armenian Genocide(!)

Third question is a mental question. Why did Turkish people want to kill Armenian people who lived with Turks about hundreds of years in Ottoman(!) Might Armenian people kill Turkish people behind them in the First World War to find a new government of Armenia?

Last question is about Peace(!) Do you think that Turkish and Armenian people could make Peace(!) between them? They both lived together lots of years did not they?

I hope(!) you will respond all of my questions...

    Please read the following:

General Antranik (1865-1927): “I am not a nationalist. I recognize only one nation, the nation of the oppressed.”

Re herring argument - there was no Armenian State in 1915 - thus there are no "archives" for this period - and certainly nothing relating to anyting directly to do with the genocide of Armenians by Ottoman Turks. As for the (various) Turkish archives - well who can believe that a state that has so vigorously denied any culpability (by Turks) for the atrocities commited against Armenians - who could believe that they would not doctor the archives to attempt to eliminate any eveidence to the contrary - and there is in fact documention of this beginning even with the CUP who were noted to be destroying vast numbers of such documents. So "archives" are not necessarily the repositor of ultimate truth in all cases. And if one wishes to peruse relevent archival records of these times I would suggest starting first with the German archives, then the American, Russian and Austrian archives...then we can talk.

Yes - perhaps those are just dead Germans - killed by Jews in the concentration camps. ...Very few pictures really exist of the Armenian Genocide - considering the vast nature and extreme horrors of the crimes commited. The reason is the severe Ottoman censorship (under threat of death) that exsisted at the time in regard to any pictures being take and taken away. However there is more then sufficient documention of the sources of the pictures which are available to not entertain such absurd notions as you are putting forth. To begin try googling Armin Wegner - and at least make an attempt to learn something of the truth.

Why did Germans start killing Jews in WWII - when Jews had experienced nearly the best treatment in all of Europe while in Germany prior? Might the Jews have been behind German defeats in WWI? Might they have been undermining the Wiemer Republic - in league with Communists...etc etc? So Nazi sympathyzers and propoganda would have you believe. Your absurd Turkish notion of the history of the Armenian Genocide suffers from the same completely absurd and unsupportable notions. You have internalized your own state's racist propoganda and are attempting to foster it off on us who just happen to know a bit better. Please come back to us when you have graduated grade school and learned a bit of real history.

If the Turks love Hrant Dink and Turkish Armenians so much, then why did you kill him, especially if, as you say, he denied that there was a Genocide?

          Fincancay,

Anatolia was once the heartland of the Armenian people. About 2 million of them had been living there since at least as early as 600 B.C. Between 1915 and 1918 those people were erased from Anatolia. Do you think it is possible to erase 2,000,000 people from their home of almost 3000 years in a matter of only 3 year without a plan? Do you think it was all an accident? Do you think the Armenians (the loyal Millet as you pointed out) all decided to take a vacation one day and never came back? Please be logical. Try to use your brain.

Regardless of Hrant's stance on the Genocide, he was targeted and murdered simply for the fact that he was Armenian.

And BTW, his stance was that it was a Genocide. He just didn't think that the diaspora was handling it the right way by getting foreign governments to acknowledge it or criminalize its denial, as in France and Switzerland.
