Hello. Just signed up for this forum because I'm looking for some help with a project. Every year, I try to do my part for the Armenian genocide cause by posting about it on all the forums I frequent, be they for cars, bands, or what have you. Last year, I wrote a summary of the events leading up to April 24, 1915 because most people aren't familiar with Armenians, let alone the genocide, so I'd always get several people asking what it was all about. I tried to condense as much info as possible into about 5 pages (in MS Word), which was quite the daunting task considering how complex the history of events is. I put the piece together all in one day, so it was more of a rough draft than anything.
A couple weekends ago, I finally got around to proofreading, and trying to fine tune the piece. Made lots of changes, corrected some dates, and so forth. Before I call it a finished, polished piece, I was looking to have it proofread by people that have extensive knowledge of all the events and dates that came well before 1915. As much as I've read over it, there is a LOT of info to go over and condense, so it is still entirely possible that I have made errors. I'd like to get as much feedback (again, from people who are well versed on the subject) on the time line and historical accuracy of the events mentioned. My goal is to create as concise and thorough of a piece as possible without writing a book about it. I tried to get help on several other forums to no avail, and came across this one while doing a search. I'm hoping this community will be a greater help since it is specifically geared towards the subject matter. If you are interested in assisting me with this, please let me know here, and I'll PM you the link to the uploaded file (again, it's about 5 pages in MS Word + a list of countries and American states recognizing the genocide). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have posted about the subject for the last 3 or so years on the forums this is going to be posted on, posting a rough draft version of this piece last year. So far, the responses have actually been quite good. I simply wanted to make the piece more complete, and more accurate (caught several errors myself, but I was in a bit of a rush to get it done last year). The sites I'm going to try to get it stickied to will be related in some way, shape or form to this issue. Namely, armenianclub.com (in their genocide section), and SOADfans.com (the biggest non-official System of a Down fan site) because many System fans are actually quite interested in knowing more about this subject. This way, there is a permanent reference to point people to.
Nor do I want it to become a discussion about the topic, as opposed to a proofreading session. Oh well, I guess if I posted that error filled version of this last year, I can post this version here. So....
