All armenian want the Genocide to be recognized by turks...
Ok. Imagine, it is recognized... What`s then?
We`ll have OUR territories with turks, where they`ve been living for alll their life?
we`ll begin the war with them? There are more 70 mln of them and there are about 4 mln of armenians...

Moreover if they recognized they`ll seem more clever and `kind`... now they are not as they were in 1915...
What we will gather form the recognition?

Recognition is the first step. It opens the door for educating the Turkish people that Armenians are not parasites; that we are good people, and that we were the victims of a bad government, and not the evil backstabbers that Turks are brainwashed into thinking that we are. Only when Turks learn the truth and stop looking at us in a bad way are the Armenians next door safe (or at least safer) to open their doors to Turkey and become partners in commerce, diplomacy, regional politics, etc. It is important for Armenia to have a good and honest relationship with Turkey; one based on truth and mutual understanding and respect. None of those things can happen without Turkey first acknowledging that the Young Turks committed Genocide against the Armenian people, and that it was not a "civil war" with people dying on both sides.

Well, u`ve written some general things, they are more moral than political.
I think after recognition Armenia and armenians will have more problems! Armenian politicions are to weak to solve so difficult problems that they are going to be faced with! The main aim for arm politicians - is to gather more money and to put it in their own pocket.
Unfortunately, I have doubts about the piece and `honest relationship` between arms and turks.
Turks will never recognize genocide and armenians will never forgive them, so there is only one way out... I hope that`ll never happen but let`s have a look from the real sight..

I'm sure the nationalists and political parties are concerned with the political aspects of it, but for the average Armenian, I think the biggest issue with having Turkey recognize the genocide is to get some closure. It's hard to "move on" when what happened hasn't been acknowledged, or even admitted to. This is not unique to the Armenian genocide. It's a psychological and emotional phenomenon that most anyone who has endured a massive tragedy goes through. It's difficult for the wounds to heal when salt is continuously poured in them.

1- Peace of mind and justice. My great grandmother lost everyone in her family in the genocide. I heard some horrific stories from her (how she found the bloated body of her uncle next to the river, how her brothers were beheaded, and much more), so I need some sort of justice. The least they can do is recognize and officially apologize. First step.

2- As we saw with the murder of Hrant Dink, the same hatred and mentality towards the Armenians that initially led to the genocide still exists in Turkey up to this day.. very unfortunate. The picture of the nationalist murderer posing with the Turkish flag and Turkish police officers right after the murder is hard to forget. So perhaps an official recognition and change of view against Armenia and Armenians is a must. Brainwashing the public against us, with their denial campaigns, has got to stop!

3- I'll be honest.. They need to pay reparations. Germany has paid billions of dollars to Holocaust survivors. There is a price for every life that's been taken multiply that by 1.5 million. Doesn't matter if it was this government or the preceding one. They built their country on lands belonging to our ancestors. The lands our ancestors paid for and bought homes and started businesses on. The lands that later on were given to us through a treaty, but unfortunately, due to the genocide our population was too weak and dispersed to claim it and were taken back from us without our consent. You said 'many Turks live on it today'. Well excuse me.. didn't Armenians live on it when Ottoman decided to send them to the desert? The only difference will be we will send them to their country where they will have food/water/and shelter. Wish they did the same to us.

I've brought this up many times during these kinds of discussions on various forums when the good ol' "it wasn't us, it was them" excuse is brought up. You can't have it both ways ("we'll take the land, but we want nothing to do with the killings; that was our "predecessors"). The only reason you have those lands today is because of the killings. If you feel you have the right to "inherit" the lands of your "predecessors", then you must also inherit the crimes committed to obtain those lands by your predecessors. You don't get to pick and choose what you'd like to accept, and would you don't care for. It's a package deal, just as when a corporation buys out another company. They inherit the debts of that company as well as. They don't get to "start all over" by just buying the intellectual properties of that company, and saying "the debt prior to the buy-out isn't ours, it was the previous owner's".

Its fact that turkey should pay reparations and apologize.
Its fact that turkey got this lands by force and genocide but this is a bit tricky. You know that its impossible to take back your lands. Unfortunately, they will keep what they wanted to take through the genocide.
I believe that at least ,with the recognition of AG, you can get Karabakh, and that's the reason why turkey will NOT recognize the AG, and not even make a step to that until Karabakh issue is solved. Turks always do the same thing. They attack ,murder, deport, then bring settlers, deny their crimes and after 100 years say ''We did this but now, it's past! Time for peace.'' but of course they are no willing to pay anything.
In smyrna ,happenned the same thing. They totally massacred the city and deported the rest and from the 20000 turk inhabitants that were there back then now 3 million turks live there. Turkey brings them in purpose so that to raise hunmanity issues and to claim that these provinces were always inhabited by so many turks.
In Cyprus also they brought settlers in 1571 and now they say 'Its past, the t/c live there'. The problem is that they brought settlers again and the deny that they brought settlers and in 100 years they will say ''We brought settlers, but its past, now they must live there peacefully.''

Turkish fascists are creatures with no moral sense at all. They will do anything to just take lands from others even if these lands have no relation with them at all. In Cyprus the use their 18% minority to raise claims against all the island. In smyrna they claimed that because it had 15% turks it was turkish (and they massacred the rest.)
The same is what they did in Van.
I really laugh when they say that 'Van was turkish'.

all these regions had no more than 5% turks. The majority was armenian and there was a strong kurdish minority.

Turks pretend that there were no christians in turkey after 1850. They pretend that this was their land for centuries. (!!!!!)
They believe that is more rational cyrpus to be a turkish island because it has 120000 turks and a 300 years turkish history (occupation) although the greeks are 600000 and have 3500 years history in the island!!!

Am horrified of that! Al arm politicians will gather MILLIONS and again Armenia will stay in poverty! Horrible! These billions are not for Armenia, or they are vor ARMENIA but not vor arm`s politicians!

Greekaiser, I agree.. It might not be realistic (yet) but that won't stop us from calling it our lands and demanding it back. Even some of the bricks used to build turkish homes on those regions have Armenian letters carved it them. We'll keep reminding them, so at least they'll know we haven't forgotten about it. I believe we can only achieve that through force at this point.. So maybe someday we will be strong enough for that.

Ask for Karabagh??? Why ask for something that's already is ours. We've had Karabagh for 13years. Our people live in it and throughout history, Karabagh always remained a predominately Armenian populated land.. We've build roads, schools, and hospitals there.. Every year, through a Telethon fun, Armenians around the world donate money to improve the living situation there. Our people feel very strongly about it. Karabagh is a done deal and they know they can't get it back. (why do you think they haven't attacked us by now, cuz they're 'nice'? No.). We won Karabagh through Armenian volunteers when our country didn't even have an official army, this is how dedicated we are to it! Now if they're lucky, we might be kind enough to return the surrounding villages, but it all depends on how well they're willing to cooperate. Video on the current situation in Karabagh:

70 million Turks live in Turkey, not western Armenia alone. Yes, we will start a war, whatever it takes. But not anytime soon, we have other things to focus on for now.

As far as your comment on 'Armenian politicians taking reparation money and country remaining poor', I don't agree. When they pay reparations, everyone will know exactly how much they paid, to whom, and how the money will be spent. It's a public figure, no one can mess with that. I much rather have the money go to our government than stay with theirs!!
