  • Petition : "Down with the statues (from Romania) of the terrorist Ataturk!"

Sign the petition! "Down with the statues of the terrorist Ataturk!"

Today, when the whole Europe is shaken by the Muslim terrorist attacks, when the dead from Spain or England are still mourned by all of us and America still keeps the memory of the innocent victims of WTC alive ,in Romania statues are being erected, statues of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk a dictator whose hands are defiled with blood.
As an officer of the Turkish army he took part in the Armenian genocide in which 1.5 million innocent people were slaughtered. Then as the Chief of the Turkish State he protected all the great assassins guilty of this massacre.
Today in Romania two statues of this hidious person have been erected. A statue is in Tulcea and the other one in Bucharest. The statue from Tulcea was erected very close to the place where ONCE WAS the statue honoring the great Romanian prince (voivode) Mircea the Old (1386-1418) who fought for the liberation of Dobrogea from the Ottoman domination (this monument was sculpted by Ion Jalea). The winner of Rovine is defeated by the Turkish-origin mayor of Tulcea , Constantin Hogea, who took him off from his well-deserved pedestal to make room for the assassin of women, old people and unarmed children: Kemal Mustafa Ataturk.
We know that Ataturk has statues in every town of Turkey. We have nothing against him being worshipped by the Turks in their home country. We know that Turkish values are different and even incompatible with the European ones. This is why we are firmly against these two statues from Romania and those which are to be erected in Medgidia and Harsova. We do not want that every town of Romania to be marked by the bust of Ataturk.
The whole Europe is fighting against terrorism and its symbols. Romania cannot accept that a symbol of cruelty to be multiplied in its towns in the name of tolerance.
We ask the Romanian authorities to intervene and demolish the statues of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk as soon as possible and change the names of the schools that bear his name. This name arouses indignation and revolt among the Armenian people and repulsion in the European states. Sign the petition to remind the Romanian politicians that they have the duty to promote the Romanian and European values and not dictators with blood on their hands.
Down with the statues of the terrorist Ataturk!

Ataturk fought bitter wars against Australians in the allied dardanelles campaign and against the Greeks in the Turkish War of Independence. And yet, Australia erected a monument of Ataturk as a remembrance for all the innocent lives lost at the hands of British imperialism. Eleftherios Venizelos, the Greek president during the bloody Greco-Turkish wars, nominated Ataturk for the noble peace prize. Why would two former enemies give such respect to an enemy general?

Because they knew Ataturk hated war. One of his most famous sayings is "Peace at home, peace in the world". Thanks to his ideology, Turkey was never an expansionist power. If Greece were more accepting to Cypriot Muslims (and therefor, because they are muslim, Turkish) brothers in Cyprus, the TSK would have never invaded Cyprus. The borders of Turkey has not changed since 1923, and will remain the same as long as the TSK is Kemalist.

By the way, if you happen to Romanian, we are ethnically related. My great-grandfather was a Romanian whose Romanian ancestors converted to Islam during Ottoman Rule. Millions of ethnic muslim Balkans relocated to Turkey and since became known as Turks. Turkey is more ethnically and culturally European than you think.

"Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives… you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets where they lie side by side here in this country of ours… You the mothers who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears. Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. Having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well."

These are his words inscribed in the monument dedicated to Ataturk in Australia. Hardly the words of a "bloody tyrant" ...

Historical revisionism has painted Ataturk as a child murderer who somehow engineered the Armenian Genocide, despite at the time being a mere officer stationed far away from Eastern Anatolia. Its not entirely your faulty, since his death he has become a symbol of the Turkish republic. All past cruelties of Turkey will continue to be attributed to him, even if he had nothing to do with them.

Egeli, you said "Historical revisionism has painted Ataturk as a child murderer who somehow engineered the Armenian Genocide, despite at the time being a mere officer stationed far away from Eastern Anatolia. Not true. It would be normal for Armenians to dislike Ataturk as you mentioned but Armenian official standing in this regard is to approach this with cool heads and use well documented facts by respected outside parties as their evidence in a civilized manner when dealing with Turkish Governments fabricated fairy tails and their inappropriate conducts. We know that no matter how long this Government keeps lying to their own people and continues to threatens other countries (by the way we feel for the normal Turkish people who are forced to live a lie and denied the opportunity to mend their relations with us) eventually the truth will prevail. By allowing statue like this and the one in Jerusalem to get erected it compromises our positions in these countries, so we will fight it. Will they allow us to build a Genocide memorial right next to it? Nothing to do with Ataturk right?
We will never allow a Genocide to ever happen again. This Government must realize that the more they pour salt on this old wound the hungrier our Fedayees get and they have this great appetite for Wolfs, Gray one in particular.

A point I've made before is that the Ataturk's nationalist movement carried on the genocide from Marash onward into the outskirts of Yerevan. He despised the leadership in the CUP but carried on many of their policies related to Armenians and Assyrians. The massacres continued until the Bolsheviks took Armenia over. Karabekir was his accomplice.
General Antranik (1865-1927): “I am not a nationalist. I recognize only one nation, the nation of the oppressed.”

Well, there is a huge difference between Ataturk of flesh and the Ataturk fabricated by Kemalists after his death. He has become a symbol of the Turkish state. Protests against his statue have to do more with being against Turkish national interests than with M.K.A.

Agreed. Ataturk was a nationalist before anything else, and without a doubt he fought for the Turkish nation at the expense of Armenians. However, there have been many nationalists in history who have fought for their people at the expense of others. And yet, Ataturk often has the genocide label attributed to him.

Egeli, like I have said before. Ataturk was a worthy adversary who deserved respect and honor and we will respectfully and honorably remove his statue and send it back to the Turkish government in bubble wraps.

I hope that you know your own interest and you'll join the signing of the petition. Ataturk is involved in the genocide, even if only by covering the guilties.
