Genocides have occured throughout the history of Mankind. A powerful entity that is in control of a population decides to eliminate that population.
It commits mass murder by every diabolical means available. It can use all types of excuses to justify the genocide.
In the case of the Armenian Genocide, Turkey denies the genocide to this day. The United States government maintains air bases in Turkey, and will not recognize the Armenian Genocide for this reason. By the same token, the United States supplies military and financial aid to Israel which is used to systematically slaughter Palestinians, United Nations personnel, and journalists.
Because the Armenian Genocide was dismissed other genocides have occured and are occuring. Our government has to condemn and boycott
those who commit these crimes against humanity.

Do you think it is a cute coincidence that the first nation to commit Genocide after the Armenian Genocide was Germany? Was it a coincidence that many of the Germans who devised the plan to exterminate undesirables in Europe were officers of the German forces during WWI? There is a direct connection, so palavrayi birak!

This is one thing I disagree with most other Armenians on. I don't buy into that BS about other genocides occurring because ours wasn't recognized. Do you REALLY think all the other genocides throughout history could have been avoided simply by the world acknowledging ours? If so, why did genocides continue (and continue even to this day) after the Holocaust recognition?

I don’t think ALL Genocides could be prevented but a lot would have been different nowadays. I do agree though that Turkey was an exemplary figure for people trying to commit Genocide. They could say, “Look at the Armenians. The Turks got away with it and if they could, so can we.” And this happened. Let us remember our friend Hitler who so joyously tried to rule the world.

And let us remember everyone that tried after Hitler, even though Hitler didn't get away with it. Those that have enough desire to control, and enough power to see those desires through, will always act on those desires. They need neither the permission, nor the inspiration from others to do so. And don't forget, technically, Turkey didn't get away with it. The tribunals immediately following WWI found them guilty. It's only after the G word was invented, and officially excepted by Geneva and the UN that denial became an issue. Suddenly, there was a word and classification for what the Ottomans had done, and they wanted no part of it.

Hard to disagree with that logic,butwhat has been happenning and what should happen are two different subjects, our duty is to hope and strive for a better world and human rights:which is the only road to Enlightment.
