- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

We, French Armenians, are doing our best to counter the Turkish projekt to enter the E.U. I do not know how much the other Armenian communities are acting about that.

Re: European Elections June 2009 in France

Here is a rough translation of an open letter I did in Paris.
          _____________________

7 June 2009 European elections? Questioning from the folder of the expression:
"Entry of Turkey: What the Europeans have really scared?" [* 01]

Let's talk about this "fear"! The European elections are not free of paradox in their prose. It is not unusual to hear political-semantic manipulation to demonize Islam confusing Islam with terrorism and fueling Islamophobia (for geopolitical reasons in the Middle East), but also by means of Islamophobic recycling xenophobia Classic can no longer speak in the European Union.

Due to its non-democratic nature, Islamophobia becomes:

          - An indirect ally of unsaid Turkish Denial >> dragging the Armenian Genocide of 1915 on the back of Islam and -more dangerous- minimizing the responsibility of the Turkish-Ottoman State in the organization of deportations [* 02] and concentration camps [* 03]

          - A working tool of the Euro-revisionism>> present the image of Turkey "secular", [* 04] "modern", [* 05] "with a European vocation" [* 06]-while obscuring the various dual-purpose reforms (non-said) and their consequences Kemalists contradictory.

This brings us to explain the origins of the Genocide of Armenians in 1915 and its current denial, hoping to undo the laces which tighten the bag of trouble. It is out of confusion. To this end, we recall that:

          - Genocide was based on ideological pantouranist ultra [* 07] and non-Islam,
          - The project was to create a great empire Touranian from the Mediterranean to Central Asia,
          - The first step in the process provided a junction with the Azeris,
          - Ethnic cleansing with the complicity of pangermanisme which folowed, [* 08] was a consequence of this criminal deportation at an indigenous people. [* 09]

If religious fanaticism was instrumentalized by the Young Turk Government, the massacres and deportations which geared, were denounced as un-Islamic. [* 10] The Young Turk government was harshly described as "ungrateful" [ * 11] by the Hashemite emir of Hejaz, Hoceïn Ibn Ali (1854-1931). The sheriff of Mecca, issued a firman in 1917 as the Custodian of Holy Places, asking Muslims to give hospitality to survivors of the Armenian deportees raids, atrocities and exterminations since 1915. [* 12]

After the war, France secretly negotiating with the new Turkish nationalist uprising against the Ottoman imperial authorities, [* 13] becomes the first major power to contribute to concrete negationism Kemalist. Thereafter, she did not hesitate to abandon the Armenian refugees who had survived the 1915 massacres at the hands of armed Turkish Cilicia (1921). [* 14] The Treaty of Lausanne (1923) enshrines impunity this genocide to the extent that the Nuremberg Trials, it is reported that Hitler had expressed before attacking Poland in 1939: "Who speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" [* 15]

Beyond considerations / analysis on the historical relations between States, and beyond other levels (religious - political - Demographics - Economics - European financial aid), what about the "fear" of European citizens? What role does the past? What is also of the European Unconscious Mind vis-à-vis its own historical legacy?

It can be argued some thesis to try to understand the "fear" of European citizens. Among these include in-three:

          - The Turkification

Knowing that the Turkification (which was not an ethnicity islamization retaining young converts) has been used extensively within the Ottoman Empire-the Balkans and Anatolia, to mention only these two regions. [* 16] In many of these young people, better known in Europe were janissaires trained and conditioned to fight at the front. [* 17]

          - Colonialism and slavery

Whereas some french and European aspects, past or present, it may be argued that:
. this "fear" in France, in particular, is catalyzed by the remainings not yet clarified with the Algerian War (Harkis, torture, war crimes) [* 18] and also in general by the memory of colonialism and the Memory out of slavery recalled by our multiethnic society. [* 19]
. Transatlantic Slave Trade is specifically to the historical basis of the various financial and economic booms in Western Europe. There is inconsistency and discrepancy with Central Europe that has not been involved in this trafficking offense, that has not been in the neighbouhood and that has not benefited. [* 20]

          - The current denial of the Armenian genocide

As the denial of a crime against humanity, we should emphasize:
. denial, concealment of facts of dehumanization, all concrete in a State Denial of from Turkey for more than 90 years
. the devastation caused by the denial in the collective unconscious, for both descendants of victims and perpetrators, [* 21]
. the Middle East, an unconscious genesis of Islamic terrorism which we try to understand why beyond conflict and fanaticism, [* 22]
. in France, with a trivialized denial as a "genocide" in quotes reported by the denial of state in question: a desertion and a laxity in our country can only encourage discrimination and crime sociologically-consciously or unconsciously.

These psycho-sociological mechanisms that European politicians seek to minimize or render obscure regarding civil society are better discerned with the Turkish-Kurdish news. We understand better the 1915 genocide with the acts of violence committed by power Kemalist power of Ankara on the other indigenous people who remain in the region, that is to say, the Kurds. [* 23]

So today, as regards the European Parliament, beyond the "fears" and being more responsive to communities, minorities or oppressed peoples of neighboring countries -and not being with their oppressors or corrupt states- we shall hope that this can contribute to better answers to Eurocitizens expectations!

I don't think Turkey will get in. I am sure they just see Turkey, like the flood of North African refugees. Totally unwanted.

              There are two levels :
              - our level of (small) people who have very-very little power,
              - people of State level who decide in their interest of Realpolitik http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Realpolitik . They do not care about what we think of.

So we have to go beyond of thinking (even appropriately), we have to act. As we cannot fight alone, we must have allies. To have allies, we must inform people having same interests. Nowadays, it is possible to do it easily thanks to internet, thanks to targeted appropriate e-mails.

Everytime we notice any denial attitudes, any historical falsifications, any political pressures, we must inform our potential allies : historical, political, religious, cultural, geographical, local, social, professional, familial, etc., etc...
              http://forum.hyeclub.com/showthread.php?t=14875 - http://forum.hyeclub.com/showthread.php?t=14882 - http://forum.hyeclub.com/showthread.php?t=14870

This has to be our first natural stage of action. It must become a second nature : as driving, for exemple. The phase of (small) talk is over. We know that reality in Europe : Turkey is knocking at the door of European Union and Brussels economic bureaucraty is the ally of powerfull corrupting Ankara.

Gun traders of today are slave traders of yesterday. Isn't it so ?

Please translate this page and try to read it : http://www.globalarmenianheritage-ad...iberalisme.htm

If you do not understand these economical-political-diplomatical mechanisms -which are often heavilly underground- please ask to some African American University professors : http://www.globalarmenianheritage-ad...usa_blacks.htm . They will tell you how hard their struggle has been. They will also explain how big are the differences between impacts of refugees and the ones of an important State.

And even if there has to be a flood somewhere, it must be ours : our numerous targetted e-mails ! We have to manage them not to be a (totally) unwanted matter.

Meanwhile, it is simply possible to go to the movies... Please go and see the very good film "The Great Debaters" with Denzel Washington and produced by Oprah Winfrey. I am sure you'll get it then.

Best regards from Paris. Take care. Au revoir. Parev. Nil (France)
