Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Some Absurd statements by Turks!!!

    Just unbelievable...

the deportations took place before this period btw... and no one .. not even your Armenian buddies accuses kazim karabekir of deporting anyone... armenians taht left .. left of their own accord... just like turks in the balkans left after the 1880s

    get this in your head:

that land was owned and held and in the ottoman empire and the republic of turkey .. thats how it was "taken back"

noone cares for petty and prehistoric claims to ownership based on ancient kingdoms.. you want to challenge it.. then why doesnt Armenia attack turkey...
stop talking about that.. its out of the realm of historical or geopolitical debate

    the majority there were turks

even in big armenian centers like arapkir.. majority was still turks.. at most it was 40-50 in turkish favor.. i shud know.. im from arapkir
not true.. there were no deportations under abdulhamid II... the so called killings were merely security reactions to armenian nationalist movements.. people didnt run around killing armenians.. but armenians with sympathies to the armenian nationalist movement were arrested and in most cases killed? why you ask? ottoman empire was an empire.. they disliked all rebels.. turk or armenian

    and so what?????!!?!

kazim karabekir had his campaign in 1920s.. no one accuses him of anything... and yes.. there were many armenians that stayed until the 50s 0r 60s.. they left because they were rich and could afford to .. who the hell wants to stay in their ancestorial homeland when there is no economic or real reason to.. turks would have left it they could.. and armenians also left in the 20s to go to armenia.. since gues what?! that was their state.. like how xxxs moved to israel
IT WAS OTTOMAN/TURKISH LAND.. but ARMENIANS LIVED IN IT... BECAUSE ARMENIANS RULED THAT LAND THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO IN PRE ROMAN TIMES DOES NOT MEAN THEY CAN SAY ITS OUR LAND... ITS BEEN RULED AND CONTROLLED AND OWNED BY OTTOMANS/TURKS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF MODERN HISTORY
If Armenians were really attached to those lands that much then they would of course get back to their lands when their property was offered to them. Pretty much all of the Turks are not aware of the fact that Turks issued a government order to call back for those Armenians to get back to their homes, where their property would be returned to them even if they were occupied by Kurds or Turks, all in the expense of the Turkish government. And, no one denies that those lands used to be historically Armenian. Stop making stupid and baseless claims.
I would expect any people that have been driven out of their homes to return back to their homes at any given chance if the attachment is as strong as you make it to be. Also, your analogy is rather invalid as xxxs do not have such an attachment to Germany but they did develop that attachment to the Levant which they in fact did go back at a high cost. I also explicitly told you that the expenses would be met by the government where the properties of Armenians would be returned to them regardless of who uses those properties or if they were razed a compensation would be due. This is the point where you acknowledge that you were in fact wrong. But why start now when you never managed to do that?

Reads like typical low-grade message-board stuff. Probably from some ill-moderated general history or military history forum since it is in English.

^^^yes, and it seems the Armenian posting there is out gunned and over his head.....Mos, those comments are not obsurd or unbelievable. In fact they are very typical of what I come across and there is a correct way to counter those and completely discredit them in front of other members. That comes with experience. Be careful how you represent us there and don't fall into traps, like it seems it has happened to the Armenian poster over there.

what traps? They were suggesting that Armenians were relocated for security reasons, and that the Turkish government offered Armenians a chance to return back to Eastern Turkey after the 1915 events. I have really little patience arguing with these Turks, and they have even made a group on the forum "Debunking Armenian Genocide myth" which serves as a base for the denialist propaganda.
