If you saw of the tip of the barrel of an ak47, the bullets come out somewhat slower but the flame shoots out significantly farther. Why it is so I don't know, but the enemy would freeze up for a certain duration when confronted with the extra visible flame.

The only part of chubs post that was referred to that was --- unbelievable --- was that chubs never once addressed the heinous crimes or coverup I referred to (but) extolled the ?humanity? of the turc offspring.

You are right, it was the 3rd Army and I was referring to the battle of Karikamish (Sarikamish) where the senior Russian army officers of Armenian extraction team fcked up the Turks left due to knowledge of terrain. The weather killed alot on both side (more ill prepared turks) so yes, you be right.

That is not really correct. The people who turned Sarikamish into an Ottoman defeat was the population of Sarikamish, mostly civilians. In particular a brigade of 1000 railway construction workers who were Russians, supported by border guards and about 1000 civilian militia, who would have been a mixture of Armenians and Russians and other ethnicities. They resisted the Ottoman army in the hills around Sarikamish, stopping them occupying Sarikamish and forcing them to camp out in the open, in freezing conditions. The Sarikamish forces were later joined by 7 platoons of Turkistan riflemen who happened to be in Kars, and they, along with the forces already mentioned, defended Sarikamish when the Turks, reduced to half their original numbers, attacked the town in strength.

The Russian army officers, regardless of their ethnicity, had panicked, ordered a general retreat, had withdrawn from northern Persia allowing the Christian population there to be massacred by Turks and Kurds, and the generals fled to Kars and then on to Tbilisi where they threw the city into panic by predicting the Turks would soon be at the gates.

The winter weather and the stupidity of the turcs by sending troops without sufficient cold weather equipment and food caused the vast majority of casualties in the turcish 3rd army (not 5th which was formed in 1915 and fought at Galipolli).

The majority of Armenians didn't have wealth let alone "great wealth", farmers, artisans and peasants by the most part, any wealth diminished by the depredations and punitive fiscal systems of the turcs and kurds. In fact in some villages Armenian artisans were kept from the death marches because the turc could not replicate their skills, turcs didn't want businesses as this would mean having to work.

I have heard we (as in few influenced ones) did control money flow since Toork could not do simple math let alone economics of the time, lol. Plus Armenians have always traded and had businesses (not my family that lived in a small village).
