where can i get statistics on the number of armenian churches, monasteries, schools, etc. that existed for each region of pre-genocide ottoman turkey? i saw it in a big thick hard-cover book in french at a relative's house in france last year. apparently it is out of print. it was also full of old photos of buildings, towns, cities. it covers every region of ottoman turkey right down to the tiniest of surrounding villages. i know that the istanbul-armenian newspaper agos was printing a little bit of this information each week, but i would like to have the full volume of information. i can tell you, flipping through this book was stunning. thx.
