Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

PBS released a documentary on the Armenian Genocide, and the Turks

(who are known historically to be responsible) are fighting against

this, wishing to have a revision of history that is favorable to

them, never mind that they haven't apologized for this. Please read

below. Please send this out to as many people as possible.

MSNBC has started a new survey on the PBS panel on the Armenian Genocide.

Please cut and paste the link into your browser and vote NO.

The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) has sent e-mails

to thousands of Turks asking them vote for the panel. As of now, 55%

of the voters have voted for the panel.

Please vote NO and forward this message to everyone on your e-mail list.

Also- Below is an additional link with more information on the

Armenian Genocide with graphic pictures of what the Armenians along

    with many Greeks

Affirmation of the 1915 Armenian Genocide committed by Ottoman Turkey, featuring photos, documents, maps, chronology, resolutions, bibliographies and educational resources.

Black Book: The Tragedy of Pontus, 1914-1922

This is a large PDF file containing the entire book titled, Black

Book: The Tragedy of Pontus. Invaluable for its historical and

genealogical information, this brief tome was submitted to HCS by

Sophia Kostos with instructions to disseminate its contents. It

details the numbers of Pontic Greeks killed in each village by the

Turks, with some lists of actual names, and some eyewitness accounts

of massacres and genocide. Compiled in Athens in 1922, it serves as

valuable testimony to the crimes committed against our countrymen.

    Re: Vote No

You people have no idea what you are voting against here. I have watched the panel discussion, the deniers get absolutely destroyed, they end up looking like fools.
This is yet another case proving how Armenians ultimately cause the most harm to themselves, not Turks or anyone else.
Can you all not see how the whole issue of Turkey and it's denial works against them?

yeah, when I heard all this vote no xxxx, I was surprised... I want people to see both sides of the discussion... How do you amplify our image if it's biased? I think we'd have a more solid position through discussion and not through closedmindedness.

Why should we condemn ourselves to being the types of Armenians ara criticizes?

            Re: Vote No

An Armenian has no business arguing about the Genocide in an environment where turkish point of view is given any (even initial) credence, let alone discuss it with a turk. Let others discuss it if they want.

Not wanting to discuss or argue truths with a vile madman is not a bias. It's called sanity of mind and reason. Give them a nanometer of your regard about their weave of propaganda and they will use it to advance their lies and demand more consideration and attention.

              Re: Vote No

You can argue about politics, economy, war, present and the future, but arguing about the simple historical fact that over million and a half of native inhabitants were either massacred of deported, no matter what the murderous dogs' excuses or reasons were, makes no sense and encourages the notion that this fact is actually debatable.

well, what I'm asking is, why should we be so afraid of their lies? Is our side of the story that fragile that it will be marred by their brainwashed minds? Is their side of the story that credible? We don't need to argue with them, we can disprove their claims by showing our case to the public... If Turks don't want to listen, then that's their problem... I just think that we'd advance in this matter if we got to publicly refute their claims with our side of the story, instead of giving the old... "We were betrayed and massacred and demand recognition..."

I honestly don't think it's a matter of being afraid of their lies. At this point in time, the truth has completely cemented in the minds of the World's foremost historians and expert on the matter. If top historical societies and experts hadn't known about it or had failed to fully understand it, then Armenians would indeed need to engage even with Turks in breaking down this historical event and bringing out the facts. And guess what, they did. Ingenious Armenians did exactly that with the help of just and noble people from around the world who didn't rest untill the plight of Armenians was heard and mourned in ever corner of the world.

Today, the only reason why 100% of the world leaders don't declare in unison that the Armenian Genocide is an undeniable truth is the politics, and politics is the den of prostitutes. Turkish intellectual attempts at lies are so incredibly feeble and pathetic, however from their geopolitical podium they still manage to xxxx on reason and justice. That's why, to engage with them in any discussion is to give credence to their xxxx.

What we need to do is use our superior intellectual ingenuity to fight turkish money and xxxxx-status to banish such travesty as debate on the Armenian Genocide.
