Re: recognition of armenian genocide
I am very hopeless about Turkey's next step about these issues. I think that there is no intention to solve the Armenian question or the Kurdish question or the Cyprus question in the short-term. The status-quo will go on. Because the defenders of the status-quo are very strong, they are against change and they will do anything to prevent these steps by force. The biggest obstacle is the Turkish army. Whoever talks about these issues are labeled as a traitor. And whenever Turkey starts to take steps to be more democratic, the army intervenes or makes a coup. The army is the biggest threat for democracy in Turkey. AKP intended to take some steps about the Kurdish issue but they were labeled as traitors. And now they stepped back and started to talk like the others. Akp is just cowards. They can not resist anything, they couldn't even step up to the army in the presidential elections. In the past Turgut Ozal tried to do something about the Armenian issue and Kurdish issue. He had once said "Why don't we accept this genocide?" and also he had said "A federation with the Kurds can be discussed" As a result, he was killed by the deep forces of Turkey. Adnan Kahveci was one of his ministers, he said "how come this Kurdish issue cannot be solved?" He prepared a comprehensive report about this issue but later he was killed in a suspicious car accident. Some Turkish generals like Esref Bitlis had diverted from the Kemalist point of view and the status quo and they tried to find some solutions to this issue. Because they saw the truth when they were on duty in the South-eastern Anatolia, but he was killed in a suspicious plane crash, the other generals were killed in suspicious assassinations. If akp were a little bit more brave they would do good things for the future of Turkey, they would make Turkey more democratic, they were trying to apply the Copenhag criterias, I am not sure if they were really genuine at least they were striving but they are now afraid. Erdogan is afraid that he will be killed like Ozal. And he is right. I have no hope in politicians they are all liars. In these elections I will support the independent candidates like Prof.Baskin Oran and Ufuk Uras, they are the valuable intellectuals of Turkey. And they are the only solution to take radical steps in these issues. They promise that they will do radical speeches in the parliament. They know that they will be silenced and persecuted. But they are brave and believe in the Truth, they are taboo breakers. In fact they are in danger too, I worry about them........
