Thanks for the link. Interesting article, but written down to the level of the magazine's readership - i.e. oversimplistic and lacking in specific details. The same author had similar articles in National Geographic Magazine. I wonder what happened to his photos, are they in an archive somewhere?

Bell, we'll fence a little on this too. Most publications will try to "reach" their target audience, no more no less. We have to be thankful that magazines, of whatever intellectual level, are contemporary witnesses of the AG.
