Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Re: Whole armenian race may be wiped out

KanadaHye jan here's one more heartwrenching article. This one is from Ambassador Morgenthau. He was of Jewish descent and a man of all heart as he wished to save any and all Armenians from being slaughtered by the hands of Talaat Pasha. Morgenthau's son like the father is a very kind man as well.

Armenia without Armenians, such is the plan of the Ottoman Empire headed by Talaat and Enver Pashas. New York Times of September 29, 1915; yet Erdogan, the Prime Minister of Turkey today comes to the United States attends and speaks at five functions, including addressing to students in an American University and to Charley Rose in a Television interview and says "There was no Genocide, it never happened".

Instead of saying to Erdogan by Obama, a visit "non-grata", not welcomed visit by a denying Prime Minister of Turkey, Obama welcomes him with open arms. Would Obama have done the same to a German denialist Prime Minister if he outspokenly and boarishly denied the Haulocaust? Would Obama had welcomed Ahmadinejad for that matter? Or would he have received Sudan's president who annihilated 800,000 souls in Darfur? The answer is no! Then why to Genocide denying Erdogan?

Anybody can make heads or tails out of this old article?
Sounds like there was a poor attempt by the West to try put Armenians safety as a precondition for recognizing the new Soviet Union.

Recognition of Moscow as the price of Armenian safety opposed.

That's what it sounds like to me... need to look into it a bit more. It's almost as though they "needed" to recognize the Soviet Union in order to "save" Armenia and made it look like it was blackmail.

I like how this article include the Tartars of the Caucasus (aka the modern-day "Azeris")

Watch this video to see how the genocide wasn't only done in Anatolia. Azerbaijan is ALSO responsible. (Of course, back then, Azerbaijan had no nation, it was led by the Islamic Musavat party. If we can assume Musavat gave birth to Azerbaijan, then Azerbaijan is also responsible.)

Re: Whole armenian race may be wiped out

We can point out in The New York Times May 26, 1920, Wednesday :

"Senator Borah is right in saying that the Allies should restore to Armenia the portions they have..."

Who was Senator BORAH ? From which State ? Please develop.

              - his biography : where was he born ? where did he die ? Where is his grave ?
              - the towns he lived
              - his decendents thanks to genealogical forums
              - has he Streets or Places with his name ?
              - Libraries ? Schools ?
              - Fondations ? etc...

With this method of historiographical applications, there are opportunities to send targetted e-mails. This is part of the Armenian general grassroot action.

              Take care. Nil (Paris)

The nz govt still keeps too neutral and sometimes too friendly with Turkey because of this sort of crap both parties give here:
Turkey and Armenia to establish historic diplomatic ties
Posted by Chris Carter on September 28th, 2009

I’m delighted that Turkey and Armenia will establish diplomatic ties on 10 October.

The countries share a land border in the energy-rich Caspian region, which is often referred to as the gateway between the West and the East.

Turkish-Armenian relations have been strained for a long time. Armenian Christians had fewer rights than the Muslim-majority Turks during the time of the Ottoman Empire. A crisis point was reached in 1915 when many hundreds of thousands of Armenian people died in a very short time. Armenian says a deliberate ‘genocide’ was carried out by Ottoman troops under the orders from the Imperial authorities, but the successor Turkish state adamantly denies there was an official policy of systematic extermination.

Nevertheless, Turkey did recognise Armenia when it declared its independence from the Soviet Union on 1991. Relationships deteriorated when Turkey sided with Azerbaijan during the 1993 Nagarno-Karabakh War. The Armenia-Turkey border has been closed to trade ever since.

I don’t for a moment believe that the historical grievances will be put to rest by this mutual recognition – indeed the move will still require ratification from the respective parliaments in Ankara and Yerevan.

Nonetheless this a very important step forward. Now Turkey and Armenia will have a formalised framework for resolving any points of contention. Also, with the movement of trade and people across the border personal linkages and trust should grow.

So well done to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Armenian President Serzh Sargsian on this historic agreement.

Genocide denial of a sort right there, but I guess there are worse cases of it.

But as for what people believe here, pretty much everyone agrees there was an Armenian Genocide; but I think if that blog gives an indication there is still some Turkish propaganda seeping into society somewhere.
