HOLDING CONGRESS OF GENOCIDE SURVIVORS’ HEIRS DISCUSSED
Foreign minister Vartan Oskanian met today with Karen Mikaelian, a member of a committee that was set up to steer preparations for holding of the third congress of heirs of the 1915 Armenian Genocide survivors.
According to Armenian foreign ministry, two pervious meetings of the genocide survivors’ heirs were held in 1917 and 1918 in Yerevan. Karen Mikaelian was quoted by the ministry’s department for public relations as saying that the committee met for several times to discuss some related issues and published the declaration on establishment of the body of authorized representatives of the Genocide survivors’ heirs.
Minister Oskanian said a great deal of job should be done with Diaspora-based religious and secular organizations for holding that sort of a meeting.
