  • Armenian Genocide Documentary Aired in Australia (04-22-08)

Forgot to post this last week when I came across it. This is an excellent video that aired April 22nd, 2008 on national TV (ABC network) in Australia. It goes over not only the genocide, but the state of current affairs in Turkey when dealing with this issue. For example, they go into detail about Hrant Dink's death, the Turkish reaction to it (both those that are outraged, and those who think his shooter is a hero), and how the attorney is now going after HIS SON & PUBLISHER for the same charges Hrant was found guilty of (violating article 301; "offending Turkishness)!! It also goes over how that same attorney is being charged with plotting the murder of another author who spoke up against the genocide, Orhan Pamuk (or as the attorney calls him, Orhannes Pamukyan).

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Thanks Anomaly. You're right, it should be noted that the Attorney is suspected of being a member of Ergenekon, the Turkish right-wing paramilitary cell that is soon to be prosecuted in Turkey.

Yes, that's more of the Turkish double standards. When a Turk speaks out against the official Turkish stance on the Armenian genocide, he is immediately bombarded with claims of being a terrorist, etc. (i.e. Taner Ackam). Yet, no one mentions when genocide denialists, like this ultra-nationalist attorney, are tied to terrorist organizations.
