  • Ordinary Genocide. Baku, January 1990 (Azeri genocide of Armenians)

I did my annual posting of my Armenian genocide summary on every forum I'm a regular member of, and got an interesting response on one of them.

I read a post of yours 3 or so years ago on CGP and honestly never even heard about it till then. I've made a few Armenian friends since so I learned more about it through them.

I actually watched this earlier this year: http://vimeo.com/9078450
The video is a recent one I hadn't seen yet, and is the first I've seen of its kind. A documentary dedicated to the Armenian genocide by modern day Azerbaijan. LOTS of references to evidence from Azeris and Russians alike who were disgusted and in complete shock as to what was going on. Very familiar with what happened in 1915. Here's the description:

This is the first film in series of Ordinary Genocide telling the truth about the events of 1988-1992, during which the Armenian population of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh was repeatedly subjected to ethnic cleansing and genocide. Based on eyewitnesses' facts, documents and publication in the press, this film tells about the bloody week organized on January 13-19, 1990 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, which resulted inhuman killing of hundreds and forced deportation of more than ten thousands of people...
