playing in Philly this Saturday (2/9).

Live music and more, tonight through Thursday, compiled by Tom Di Nardo, Shaun Brady, Sara Sherr, Jonathan Takiff and Damon C. Williams.

Ari Hoenig Trio: In-demand drum ace returns home to Philly often, but the result is always a pyrotechnics display worth witnessing. This visit, he'll bring frequent collaborator Francois Moutin on bass and young Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan, winner of the 2007 Thelonious Monk Award. Chris' Jazz Cafe, 1421 Sansom St., 8 and 10 p.m. tomorrow, $15, 215-568-3131, www.chrisjazzcafe.com.
