    Re: Armenian electronic music

I do have soulseek, though I use torrent sites more.

Scooter is a german techno group. Thanks for the links I will look them up. Here is one for you. "C Rouge" http://www.crouge.com/html/home.html This is an Armenian dj who does combine electronica with Armenian tunes.

BTW: You said you have been listening to slower paced music, so do you mean ambient?

Ambient is a part of that yes, and can be very well suited for listening to music late in the night. And it has also lead me to discover many great pieces of music that aren't really all ambience but have a great ambient element to them. One genre that I am constantly looking into and listening to is modern classical, which is classical but also uses electronic instruments and is not traditionally arranged, a wide range of sounds in that genre. Lately I have been in a bit of jazz and dub phase where I have been looking. Was in a bit of ambient/tribal phase, found a few which are pretty good and am sure will get back to looking there.

But in general I mean music that is more suited for your brain to dance to rather than the rest of your body.

Cool man! What did you think of C-Rouge?

Well Armanen, again trance really is not my cup of tea and C-Rouge really wasn't too much of an exception. It was nice to hear the Armenian vocals and some of the Armenian parts of the music, but I think overall those parts were more of a novelty than anything else. But it's nice to hear Armenian vocals and other elements of our music making an appearance in electronic music, even if trance .

Not sure why this album didn't come to mind, listening to it now and its a nice lilttle downtempo album with Armenian vocals and Djivan Gasparyan on the duduk.

-Djivan Gasparyan & Michael Brook - Black Rock.
