Ever heard an instrumental song (instrumental = without lyrics) that moved you close to tears? As I mentioned in another thread, I believe that instrumental music is the best at expressing what cannot be expressed in words. I've heard a few songs that induce this feeling in me, I can't really describe it...it's one of melancholy, but warmer, indescribable. Does any of this make sense?
Anyway, here's a few examples (these ones are from films):
- The "paper bag scene" song from American Beauty
- The main theme from Memento
- "Summer Overture" from Requiem for a Dream (I haven't seen the film yet, but plan to because I looked into it after seeing it in the disturbing movies thread. This song is also in the 2nd of the LOTR movies, I believe.)
