what's the deal with downloading music?

All I can say is that I'm haunted by paranoia now.

Latest word from my ex is that she's downloaded over 1000 songs in the past two months. She uses winmx and doesn't seem to have been prosecuted yet. There is a big battle raging right now because there was a recent ruling saying that the companies that own the file-sharing software don't have to disclose the personal information of their users. Record companies and their legal representation don't like, and before this ruling, they were actively warning people, but I don't think there were many suits filed. We'll see.

as long as you dont file share, for example if you download something, make sure to make the options ' no file shareing' so others cant take the music in your stuff.

also move the folder of music you download elsewhere, make a different folder for it

instead of ' shared music '

just make sure not to have your email on programs you use like kazaa, and make sure not to share music you download.
