Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Aww bro lol, I wasn't hinting for an Oud, just saw this on ebay and I was shocked with its beauty, Merjanian's ouds are world famous for a damn good reason, very few ouds (whether Armenian, Arab, Persian, Turkish, etc.) have his quality, a lot of makers in Armenia do have ouds of similar quality of course, but this one is a piece of history as the Merjanian family were one of the first oud making families in America

Thought I'd share with everyone, its like one of my hobbies to check out antique musical instruments, another oddity of mine like my fetish for Persian carpets

Wow Pedro jan, the Merjanian Oud's are $3,800. a great deal of money; but they do look very nice!!! Btw; I have ordered three books from e-bay and the two of them are about Monte, thanks.

Saco that's very nice of you to want to buy one for Pedro; you are a generous soul, aren't you?

I know they are a great deal of money Anoush jan, but exceedingly beautiful, I for two seconds considered selling my liver one, fortunately that urge passed as I feel my liver might be semi-important to my overall physical health

I still have to think what to get Saco in return for the oud, he already has a great piano so I'm kinda stuck there

You live in South Africa and he lives in Armenia... that's far enough Pedro jan. You could ask him what he wants or needs now or perhaps you could accept his very nice and dear gift from him and someday you could reciprocate him for the ultra nice gift he is giving you by getting him something that he really needs or want.

Anoush jan, you don't know me, if someone sends me something, particularly something big like that, I feel guilty if I don't do something nice in return

I hear you and I feel the same. It's so much better to give than to receive... isn't it?

I am only humbled by your words Anoush jan. Regarding the Oud, don't tell Pedro I'm getting him a Merjounian Oud. Shh! He doesn't know what kind of contacts I have here yet ) .

Dude, I like my Oud players with their livers in place !

I'll tell you what you have to get me. Come to Yerevan and not when I'm 65 ! If you don't, I'm coming to South Africa and dragging you here myself. It's your choice. For pursuasion purposes, my shotgun will be coming along .

No gift in this world could ever be more important or dear to me then the association of such great people. NO gift in this world. Why? Because in the end, you can't take all the gifts with you wherever it is your gonna go. Your only going to take what you learned, all the great memories, and all the experience you gained in this lifetime with you. Just knowing all of you and being able to work day and night to help my nation, my friends, my family and everyone in the world, especially people like you, Pedro, Eddo, and many, many others is the best experience and gift anyone in this world could ever give me and it has been an honor knowing all of you. And if I see you all in Armenia one day, I will be officially the happiest man on the face of this Earth. That's the only wish I have along with the wish to be able to help everyone in any way I can. That's the only wish I've had when blowing my candles on my cake every year ! And my wishes have been coming true...
