I am the bike rider from Beverly Hills,
    the daring young man
    on the flying trapeze
    (with no net).

    My name is not
    Aram or Saroyan.

    But, here comes,
    there goes,
    you know who.

    Love?
    Mama, I love you.
    Papa, you're crazy.

    Madness is in the family.
    It is a place
    where I've done time.

    Love?
    Here is my hat.
    My jimmy-hat.

    I've had chance meetings,
    lived a human comedy.
    But, its no laughing matter.
Yet, I've had the time of my life.

    One day in the afternoon,
    I will live and die
    and escape to the moon.

There are bad men in the West,
    they are talking to you.
    They slaughter the innocence.

    I'll tell you tales
    from Vienna Streets
    of cave dwellers,
    Armenians,
    assassinations,
    obituaries, and
    of births.

    Have you heard
    the agony of little nations
    of dogs
    or the Paris comedy?

    Hello out there!
    I am coming
    through the rye;
but my heart is in the Highlands!!!
    Between childhood, boyhood,
    adolescence
    & manhood (maturity) there
should be sharp lines drawn w/
    Tests, deaths, feats, rites
    stories, songs & judgements

    Re: My Saroyan poem

    When I inhale and exhale
    I dream
    of the Summer
    of the Beautiful White Horse
    And, after dreaming
    I resume
    picking parsley
    in the garden
    and consider
    traveling to Sacramento
    and hanging around the Wabash
    all the while
    as I look
    across the board
    for what comes tomorrow morning
    the trolls in the garden
    steal my secrets
    still I try to solve
    my trouble with tigers
