Then what gives a piece of art its artistic "value"? Why are pieces such as the Mona Lisa so popular? Perhaps because its so widely seen in films and pop culture? Advertising? Who is responsible for promoting it?

Recently attended the Arshile Gorky exhibition at the MOCA while I was in Los Angeles, I highly recommend everyone visit if they get the chance, there's tons of his artwork being presented and I noticed lots of non-Armenians there, even people touring all the way from France. Here's more info on it http://www.moca.org/museum/exhibitiondetail.php?id=425

I've been to the Arshile Gorky exhibition twice already. You should have told me you were in Los Angeles, Fed!
