Continuing on our HyeClub artists series, we've been talking about music quite a bit as of late in the chatroom, and I've come to find we have several musicians amongst us. So this thread shall be for posting music created by members. Don't worry, I suck pretty badly, yet I'm still going to post.
So about a year ago, I had some Best Buy credit to waste (long story). I decided to spend part of it on a $300 Yamaha keyboard. I used to play a bit when I was a wee little lad. Never learned to use both hands (the left would just keep the base line in the "band accompaniment", while I'd play the main song with the right), but I loved playing anyway. I found myself wondering off to the keyboards anytime I was in a store that sold them last year. I'd end up spending half an hour there, and my sis would yell at me to "just buy the damn thing already"! So I finally did.
Haven't had much time to play since, but been messing around with it lately. Just now semi-getting down using both hands. I can only do very, very basic base lines with the left. Still getting used to it, and trying not to mess up the song, or the baseline (or both) while I do it. Anyhow, I'm learning about more of the features of the keyboard. Apparently, it can store 5 songs in its flash memory, and each song can have 5 individual tracks (can add other instruments to the song, drums, etc), which I've been experimenting with a bit. I bought the appropriate wire to connect to the computer with, and have been recording a few songs on Audacity.
And so, I've decided I shall torture you all with a sampling of my horrid playing.
Except for the first one, they're all just abridged versions of what I plan to do. They're quite sloppy, and have lots of mistakes in them, but I just wanted to get a quick sample recording to tinker with as I try to figure out what I'm going to do for each one. Track 3 is the only one that I have actually added tracks to. 3A is just the piano, and 3B includes the drum track (let me tell you....playing drums by keyboard sucks!), and a flute track I added on. Again, I'm warning you now, these are really primitive and simplistic. Anyway, play at your own risk! Let's see if any of them are recognizable.
