      For personal reasons I found this interesting. My uncle who also served as my father was born in Mexico. His parents (Kaitangian) who managed to get out of the genocide, went to Said, Egypt , and from there to Mexico. They had to wait for some kind of "quota" thing before entering USA. They ended up in Chicago and eventually Los Angeles.
      Kaitangian (great uncle) married Baghdasrian (great aunt) in Armenia. Both also served as my grandparents. It was from Simone Katangian that I got first hand accounts of alexandropol (giumri). He went into west Armenia both with the Russians and without them trying to help. My uncle/father was born in Mexico while waiting to get to America.

        Just noticed I spelled my grandmothers name wrong in my post.
        The spelling bell uses is the same as my grandmothers maiden name.
