1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Spiderman 4 scrapped/Series reboot

So idk if this is old news to all of you or not,

but Spiderman 4 has been scrapped and Sony is going to reboot the franchise. That means no Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, or director Sam Rami. Sony wanted the film done by May 2011, however the director said he couldn't get the film done by then and keep it's integrity, especially since Sony wanted it to be in 3-d a process that can add up to 6 months of production.

So now Sony is rebooting the Franchise and it's first film is due for release May 2012.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can understand the scrapping of part 4 since the series was getting kind of old anyways, but why reboot, especially so soon? Are audiences really going to go sit through another film where we learn all about how Peter Parker becomes Spiderman and fights the green goblin?

I'd be fine if they were rebooting the series if Spiderman was going to become part of the upcoming Avengers film as a replacement for "Wasp and Antman" but Sony owns the rights to spidy now and that just can't be.

Well, it's understandable why they would want to reboot the franchise considering the success around Batman. Christopher Nolan proved that a comic book film could exceed the expectations that we all had, and it set the bar up pretty high for all other comic book films. So, while Superman is getting a franchise reboot (with Christopher Nolan overseeing its production), it's only right that they would redo Spider-Man and put it on the same level as these other films.

I understand how Christopher Nolan changed the perception of comic book based movies and how batman was in a league of it's own, but there was almost a decade between Christopher Nolan's first Batman flick and the preceding one, and many people had forgotten about the previous ones. There hasn't been that much time between the last Spiderman and the upcoming reboot, and while these past 3 Spiderman flicks are not in the same league as the past 2 batman flicks, you can't really put them in the same category as the older batman films, Sony obviously thought they had a decent script they could make a 4th movie out of, had they not gotten behind schedule.

Also Christopher Nolan's Batman works b/c it's dark and relasitc, there are explanations for everything like where Bruce wayne gets all his equipment, and why it's not noticed by anyone. All the villains so far have been ordinary people, no poison ivy with poison lips and chlorophyll running through her veins and he may never need go that route since there's plenty of other realistic villains to pick from.

In Spiderman, we will start off with a nerdy Peter Parker again in high school becoming Spiderman and taking on a villain, none of which is dark or realistic. The darkest we can get with spiderman again is that he'll feel guilty for indirectly causing the death of his uncle, wahh

Also with another Batman film, Nick Fury, Thor, Captain America, Ant-Man, The Avengers, and a possible Wasp film all do by 2012, plus a Superman franchise reboot, a Wonder Woman film and a sequel to Hancok in developmet and possible pending sequels to any of the aforementioned films during this decade, is there really any room for a Spiderman reboot?

        In short, no.

I don't agree with it either, but was simply trying to make sense of what the studio is probably thinking.

The first film came out while I was still in high school, and I remember liking it quite a bit. However, being older now, I actually really don't like any of the three movies. Aside from J.K. Simmons as J.J.J. and Wilem Dafoe as Norman Osbourne, all the acting is pretty flat and phoned in, and the stories are just ridiculous. I might be overly harsh, because the studio was probably aiming for a younger demographic than myself, but I really just don't like them at all in retrospect. This series could definitely benefit from a reboot, and I think Marc Webb is a capable enough filmmaker to have it be quite special.

Not to hijack this thread with talk of Bats, but much more upsetting to me is the planned reboot of the Batman franchise after the next Nolan film. The one series that absolutely does not need a reboot is getting one. Ugh.
